Airbender I might have past you on my morning ride on my way to the office: http://maps.google.co.za/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Binneman+St&daddr=Bill+Bezuidenhout+Ave+to:Wellington+Rd+to:Malanshoogte+Rd+to:M12+to:Giel+Basson+Dr%2FM12+to:Forest+Dr+to:Jan+Smuts+Dr%2FM16&hl=en&geocode=FXvr-v0dwWUcAQ%3BFYD--v0dJIUcAQ%3BFZ-j_f0dPEwdAQ%3BFRDK_P0d6tcbAQ%3BFTRn-_0drigbAQ%3BFZLU-v0dAE0bAQ%3BFSdf-v0dZ5MaAQ%3BFZda-v0dZHQaAQ&mra=mi&mrcr=6&mrsp=7&sz=14&sll=-33.933604,18.515224&sspn=0.053765,0.07699&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.799691,18.632813&spn=0.430799,0.615921&t=h&z=11
  2. I got my 96 down to 10.6kgs. Still need to change the handle bar and stem then I am done. Biggest saving was on the wheels/tyres and I went for AM classics with Racing Ralphs. When choosing to make your bike lighter you should mainly look at rotational weight as that will produce the most benefit.
  3. Schwalbe UST Racing Ralph - Front 1.7 bar and Rear 1.8 bar. I want to go Front 1.5 and rear 1.6/7. My body weight is 72kgs at the mo.
  4. I would like 2 give it a go as well because i'm not sure if I would be more suited to XC or Marathon.
  5. SubVets finish (Andreas Studer takes the win)
  6. Christiaan tries again Elite finish (Rob Quinn takes the win)
  7. VETS - Riccardo tries to get away
  8. NOT AGAINNNNNNNNN
  9. Get yourself the following book. Racing Weight: How to Get Lean for Peak Performance. A protein only diet is not safe if you doing high intensity training because carbs is the main fuel which gets stored in your muscles. If you don't eat carbs you won't have any racing fuel and you will burn muscle. Also invest some money in a bathroom scale that gives Body FAT % (about R300 at clicks) and that way you can check if it is actual body fat that you are losing. I have managed to lose 35kgs in 18 months and it is important to follow a balanced diet if you want to stay healthy and improve your overall cycling performance in the long run.
  10. I think this CAPS LOCK tjop broke his keyboard as well !!!! Best thing to do is put your pc back in its box and send it back to supplier.

    32 vs 34

When changing to 32 the majority of cassette ratio changes and the benefit of going down to 32 is that the jumps between gears is not as high. I agree with the post that says you can walk faster than trying to grind on your granny + 34
  15. I think my order from Evans Cycles (royal mail) also went lost because its already been 20 days
  16. Chris I think its going to be a massive group because Killarney is cancelled for this Wednesday and I suspect they will all be joining CWC ride tonight. Brace yourself especially with the great weather outside
  17. And I dont see anything wrong with grain foods (wholegrain bread)
  18. low fat yogurt sure is good for carbs
  19. Agreed and this would be the best option.
  20. You need carbs if you plan on training and improving strenght and speed. Without that carbs you will burn fat but you might end up loosing lots of muscle mass as well. Trust me...you don't want to loose muscle mass. Your diet should be OK for seriously LOW intensity training and always staying in the FAT burning zone. Stay away from intervals and strenght training becuase your bodies glocogen stores will be way to low and your body will start burning muscle. My 50cent :-)
  21. right tonight I am hitting the pool hard
