  2. I'm just wondering if any of you multisport okes have done IM Austria before... I've done a few and find myself rather addicted... getting a bit bored of the SA events (they are awesome, don't get me wrong), I'm just thinking of doing one overseas for a change of scenary. Wanted to to know what you guys think of the Autria event? I know entries have closed but I can get in via the backdoor via an travel agent group booking thing'ie...

  7. So your girlfriend doesn't like her parts used???
  8. This is the only thing I wouldn't mind being "slightly used"
  9. hahahaha... and now he changed his name on his profile to boris bekker... what a roach! and he was reading this thread... profile views are so cool
  10. blatant false advertising... i think something needs to be done to maitain the intergrity of our classifieds section... not sure what thou... these roaches should be stopped!
  11. I can do a track stand... for long... I don't need to unclip
  12. I with Indwe - and Santam underwrites their portfolio... and yes, they do cover you for races...
  13. I had exactly the same problem with a VW extended motorplan... long story short some dumb@ss captured it on the system wrong, and then the excuse was it wasn't a VW error - I said ha, you sold it to me, sort it out dimwits! Finally contacted the big knob of Barons WC - and the dealership who screwed up had to pay for everything, including the towing costs!!! They then had to sort it out with Barloworld (whom held the policy)... Barloworld phoned me 2 months later asking if I want to extend my warrantee to which I duly replied: "I won't even take out a warrantee for my wheelbarrow with you people"... They are all vlippin sharks... makes me miss my '82 Alfa Giulietta - did everything myself and new it was done properly...
  14. Ronelle had something like 5,000 pics from the DC this year - she said she'll be putting them on CD - per team and selling them that way... I haven't seen anything on her site from the DC as yet - but keep an eye on it to see if she posts them. torquepics.co.za
  15. I used to commute to the CBD from Welgelegen side - I went down Bosmandam rd, then along Marine Drive (there is a bicycle lane there now), and then on Table Bay blvd (sometimes hairy) but never had any problems...
  16. isn't that the "bloody agent"... looks like he lost weight?
  17. I was waiting for your response TankMan here's someone who knows firsthand what he is talking about Oh and did i mention that he is a legend DC team captain
  18. how hard did you pump your tubbies? In all my years of racing (since the age of 12), I only punctured 4 times in my first Argus (rim tape issues), and twice this year (snake bites)... I'd take the chance with tubbies if i had the option now... I rode tubbies on the track, and you just can't explain the difference to someone who hasn't tried it... it's just so "aaaaaaaaaaaaaah"
  19. Go for tubbies... with a some slime... you won't regret it
  20. and if you need to replace spokes they are R90 a pop, and very few people want to service the bearings... some food for thought
  21. oh great... I just hope they don't p!ss of coronation or fundamental with legal wrangles - who ploughed money into the DC, and make the event possible. That's the last thing we need...
  22. Nope - not gona work, it was freakin hairy the first 60 - 80km's with a 1minute gap between teams, and I'm sure the organisers have a good enough reason for making the gaps @ 1min (some teams were leaving together - 2 teams @ 1 minute intervals). If you did the DC you would understand...
  23. By putting the fastest team last - the roads can be congested by cyclist for a shorter period of time - starting at 5am with a 10hr cut off, everything should be cleared up by 15:00 - the other way around and they' hav to keep the roads open the whole day - I'm thinking it's easier on everyone, marshalls, race organizers, volunteers etc etc. And you're right - it's not a 45min TT, it's a 202km TT (that's if you ride in the faster teams), and the faster guys have the bike skills to weave between riders, but there were a few slower guys with very little road sense out there on Saturday - but that doesn't excuse abusive behaviour... We had some tjop on a motorbike seconding a team in front of us, and when he was reaching for bottles he weaved all over the show almost taking out our front 2 riders - let's say we weren't polite when he told us to f off...
  24. Or pay R100 and get a professional setup at CyleLab TygerManor... that's what I'm doing next week. Craig knows his stuff, and does a good job...
