  1. That bold bit is my total training for this year's event...
  2. Hacc, have a look at some physical aspects, not just nutrition, regarding your nausea problem. For sure nutrition plays a major role, I am not discounting that! I had severe issues, trust me. And in the end it was found that the cause was gall bladder removal several years ago. Now some of those plumbing got confuddled and causes gall to push into my stomach at times. I drink some meds for it and no issues since. (Or nothing inexplicable, at least.)
  3. Sunny Cape Town would PAY to have a view like that! We were at Rhebokskloof yesterday - one dam was just dried mud at the bottom. Not a drop of water.
  4. Got an interesting mail regarding research by SSISA and Smartbeat. Seeminglly integrating to your Strava data. But then it takes you to a page where the only "option" is to send an email to them. Looks interesting, but has anybody taken this up? And also, why so late in training (for OMTOM)?
  5. Super Fanie - well done! Beating yourself - that's what it's about.

    Formula 1...

First thing I thought of last week when I saw the Mac - looks like a Spyker. Interesting that they also seems to have dropped the MP4 designation in the name. The moment Ron Dennis turns his back...
  7. What times is this happening? I'd like to come do some spectating - and maybe snap one or two pics.

Ai... a winged shark-fin with a stub (this is a family show, I've heard) nose.

    Formula 1...

Hopefully this thing does not make it into the final/race version! But for this, the first decent looking car.
  10. ...and on my smaller scale, 50 to Oceans. How did that happen?!

    Formula 1...

Renault livery looks very close to the old Mild Seven livery if you change black to blue. Somewhere in the webs somebody did it... Some people have a lot more time on their hands.
  12. Should we report the fact that we bought shoes on the booster to get it linked or is it "hope and wait"?
  13. Haha... and so I took to the bike yesterday. First time back on the roadbike since last year's (disastrous) Argus. Second time on any bike this year... Oh that trip around the Peninsula is going to be... interesting!
  14. I have a friend that did it last year. I only did the trail and it was hard for me, but it did not help that I was ill on the day. We actually talked about it recently and she said Ultra was a bit tougher - I think she said esp on the uphills. She actually ran pretty much her usual time somehow... She specifically entered for both and used it as training for Hobbit.
  15. Got my issue sorted by installing the app on an S5, worked perfectly from there. Weird glitch in that matrix...
  16. Looking at it more closely, it looks as if the App transfers me to the correct page (Pay now), where I must log in. But as soon as I log in, it takes me to the main Discovery page... I browsed around and tried the same with card statements, it asks me there also to log in (AGAIN!) to see the card statement page, but as soon as I log in, I am taken to the main page. The one with Quotes, News and My Discovery... This is on iPhone.
  17. That part I did, but then you get to step 2, where you have to pay... Then it throws you into the website (on the phone) to pay after accepting T&C's and then I can't find that page (the "Shoe booster pay now" page) once I've signed on.
  18. Okay, I am most likely looking into my own eyelids. I am trying to activate the Show booster benefit. Then it comes to the payment. It pops you into the Disco website then, asking me to pay via "Shoe booster pay now" option/page... Only problem is, I do not find that page! Where the heck is it? See plenty of you have activated, so it should be doable... Can somebody just please tell me where the option is? I presume it cannot be out of band on the laptop, where it would be easier to spot than on the tiny phone screen! Please help...
  19. Thanks man - it was very nice. On my list for next year again - really enjoyable and runable. Day 2 was a blast of singletrack, just flew by. Learnt a valuable nutrition lesson for me personally as well, so very happy.
  20. Think I did my Oceans training the world of good with a two-day trail run this weekend. Knocked my one ankle on day 1, which gave me little confidence on esp day 2's descends (can't land on it properly or with any confidence). But all in all I was very happy with how it went, how I felt and how the legs held up. The fact that it was quite hot on day two and hot as h3ll on day 1, added to the good training! Awesome singletrack and a well organised race, really liked it!
  21. Have to agree on the club thing. Ran for the club for the first time and even though we were not plentiful, every time we saw somebody else from the club (and only one guy knew me!) there was a very lekker mutual greeting and cheering on. Likewise for the club of my buddy, with whom I ran for a bit. Great fun! You did not see Vitality (to name one) peeps doing that...
  22. It remain your choice to stay on "normal" points or go for the Elite (or whatever it is called) points system, where 1200 is max - but you get rewarded more for longer lower intensity efforts.
  23. The bigger question would be why you'd want to use a Speedcross (whichever number) in SA conditions?
  24. Got mine over the weekend as well.
  25. That's what I also said two years ago... (both of those!) Now, 3 Marathons later and entered for first Oceans Ultra with more (mostly trail) running k's in 2016 than riding k's... Slippery slope, as somebody else said!
