  3. Raleigh, Orbea etc measures the chain stay from the centre of the BB to the centre of the rear wheel axel. Moorwood, Santa Cruz etc. gives the chain stay length as the horizontal distance between the BB centre and the rear hub axel centre. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Two identical bikes with the same chain stay length with only different BB drops/height will have different wheel bases. The obvious difference between the Raliegh/Superlight/Hecklar/Cannodale Rush etc and the Morewood are that the Morewood does not have a elevated chain stay. Which dates back a ?few? years ago. 4. Are we talking about the Boa again? I think they have a pink bike allready. The frame looks great. Now, I just have to find a buyer for one of my kidneys..... Ox_Wagon2009-05-25 03:24:24
  5. So... Where are they?
  6. Sad news, RIP

    OMG

And as durable as a Mickey D Happy meal toy.
  8. and compact cranks use 110 BCD. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> PS: MTB cranks use a different BCD and usually one spider arm less. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> PS PS: Track bicycle also use a different BCD (144). 9. The Ignitor should work better on the front.
  10. > R380
  11. Well done.
  12. The sad bit is that it was R400 for a WIRE beaded tire. There are lots of cheaper alternatives.
  13. The timing companies usely use the start time and not the time you go over the start mat. This adds about a minute if your are at the back of the group. Next, check that your Cateye is not in auto start-stop mode as it will then record ride time and not total time. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Ox_Wagon2009-05-04 03:44:19
  14. As Linnaga said, the pricing is based on what people are prepared to pay and if they not buying you will have to go back to the drawing board. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> They are reacting faster than the bigger bicycle (bike/car) manufactures and I bet most of the big brands are going through the same exercise but it will take longer to filter through.
  15. Does it mean I can go home know.....
  16. Sorry, I doubt it as nobody has contacted me about distributing licenses!
  17. HR, I think you a bit confused. You put drops on your MTB and riser bars on your Road bike. Nice bike though.
  18. Yip, KDEE, as you can see I put them to good use. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am definitively going to use the bike. That is what I build it for. Wesf, the frame needed a lot of TLC. To keep the cost down I simply touched up all the scratches and stone chips. So it is still the original graphics. The end result is good enough for a MTB. I also have 1996 rigid CroMo Hahanna that I want to convert to a single speed but the project has been put on ice due to the credit crush. I am also still using its wheels on the AA at the moment. I want to upgrade my other Kona to disk brakes but that project has also been a victim of the credit crunch and unaffordable UST tires. I have a problem paying more for a single UST tire than I paid for the Hahanna. The moment I have done that I can use it?s wheel on the AA and the Hahanna can have its wheels back.
  19. Name and shame!
  20. My Hub sourced Retro hardtail project. The Kona AA with yellow RS 21R fork was my dream bike why back when.... So I was very happy when I found the 1995 AA frame. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The fork is a 60mm Judy C of the same age with a long travel kit that increased the travel to 80mm that has been on my Mongoose for ages. The groupo is mostly 7sp LX. I still need to replace the Sachs FD as it is using a heavy duty spring that does not work that well with the shifters. I am currently using the single speeds projects wheels with old school (1.95?) Tioga XC tires which I will most probably replace with something with a lot more volume, read softer ride.
  21. The bike shops/importers/manufactures made that decision for me by pricing their products beyond what I am prepared to pay for a hobby. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am at the point where I do not buy local bike magazines as test of R100 000 Full suspension bikes are totally irrelevant to me. They are simply pricing them self into extinction.
  22. Have you looked at the Planet-X frames?
  23. Why am I not suprised.
