  1. Full white jump-suit with white gloves and boots; white full face helmet with blue visor :-)
  2. If that is the case, my mistake.
  3. `yep, I heard you trying to explain to the dude and the reply that he gave you didn't make sense to me either. I just mentioned this to highlight where things might have gone wrong. At least you tried to rectify his mistake for him :-)
  4. the racetec guys let a couple of guys through to their groups after the following groups had crossed the mats ????And explain this to me, we caught the stars and yet their times show 2:43 and ours 2:42 when we started 5 mins after them???
  5. I started in F-G and started my polar 30s before and stopped it after had crossed the mats by about 50m and got 2:40 (racetec gives 2:42?)
  6. One poor guy got dq'd in the A-B bunch when some one pushed him over the white line, the marshals were policing the rule quite toughly in our bunch. One thing p1$$ed me off was the dude who constantly crossed the white line behind the marshall and got away with it.
  7. I realize that now. But his reaction was so over the top.
  8. Almost got taken out by some fool driving a Silver Peugot on Prince George dr this morning. I was training by myself, well with-in the yellow line when he drifted over the line causing me to take evasive action. I met up with him at the next intersection (after an impromptu interval), tapped on his window and told him as polite as possible to please watch out next time. My mistake, he proceed to start swearing and carrying on. I watched as he sped off and true as Bob he drifted over the yellow line again.......So it seems like the silly season has started
  9. some people are rather conspicuous by their absences from this post I think they most probably busy selling the rope they were storing for the lynching
  10. B afraid B very afraid
  11. Sorry to hijack this post, but my son's studying photography this year and requires a weekend job in the industry to gain experience and pay for his transport to tech. Please contact me if you know of anything thing in the Cape Town area.Much appreciated.
  12. I'm in F and after yesterday, I have more motivation to up my seeding to E 'cos man that stars bunch is a death trap. We caught them at Slangkop and I couldn't wait to get past them. The sad part is that it is not only the young riders who are so suspect but there were two gents on very expensive (60k +) bikes whose bike handling and bunch riding skill needs lots of attention. Apparently money can't buy you skills and they didn't take kindly to being asked to ride properly.
  13. also beware the bike marshals, 'cos the marshall in G last year decided to stop rather suddenly at the entrance to the Maritime climb causing a massive unclipping and swearing and resultant split in the bunch. not nice at all (no disrespect to marshals intended)
  14. May the cyclists RIP. Please hubbers don't exacerbate an already tragic situation with stupid, baseless comments which could worsen the pain felt by the bereaved families. Just my 2c. post aimed at mtb_roadie and konamtb. I've lost a cycling friend and know the pain unsubstantiated comments can cause.

    Snakes

That is one of the worst things you could do. It only works in the movies. Once venom is injected it can't be sucked out and if you could, the 'sucker' had better not have any cuts, ulcers etc in their mouth 'cos you might need 2 ambo's then Rather check your 1st aid manual , than apply advice from "hub medics". just my 6c
  16. the unit can be opened with a thin blade and some firm pressure. I have opened a few and replaced their batteries.
  17. I think you are right...He also won a TDF stage versus Kloden and Ulrich and that was a sprint finish...of sorts
  18. thanks for the advice man.
  19. Hi my son has applied to do photography at tech next year and I was wondering if there are any photographers in the Western Cape who might need an assistant/appie to learn the ropes and assist. I am just taking a chance here. thanks for your time
  20. ...soft as in not hard like they are supposed to be....and yes crumbling like uncooked spaghetti when you apply pressure...didn't check for crumbs
  21. My buddy dropped off his rims off his wife's Avalanche stratus. Man..almost all the spokes were broken. It started with him breaking two while taking it for a ride and when he checked them out the rest were all soft and crumbling. You just have to apply pressure with your fingers and they snap. Whatsup with that?
  22. M3 between Tokai turnoff and Ladies Mile turnoff ..........now wait, step back and watch the storm of protests.
  23. go see my first few posts on this subject to see what i mean
  24. Big difference Malema, Lance and CSA are public figures/entities the child/junior (albeit errant one in this case) is not. I am also glad to see all the holier than thou, never made a mistake in my life individuals so keen on handing out punishment. If he is really such an evil then the Wheel of Cycling will sort him out. I have seen similar incidents happen on our local tracks before the advent of the hub and the comments were normally "that's track cycling, it's tough....." etc.
  25. A very, very, very reliable source has seen Michael Jackson roaming the streets of Hilbrow and he had Elvis in his company
