  1. A real dogma is a bike manufactured under license and registered trademark for Pinarello by a chinese factory and subject to their (Pina's) strict QA and covered by their warrantee. And argue as you might there is no way around this, if it is not covered by the above and if Pinarello does not cover it's warrantee then it is not a real Dogma. Pina has been in the game a long time, with obvious excellence attached to the brand. I know some-one who imports tools from China and on his first visit to the factory the manufacturer asked him how much he was prepared to pay per item; because that would determine the quality he'd get. They were prepared to manufacture anything he required to any quality, but the higher the quality the more expensive it would be.
  2. Yeah but what goes up must come down; so when you hit the flats/rollers then the lighter guy will really struggle especially if there is a crosswind.
  3. Don't be too sure, ask Tyler and Co.; one of them must've seen/heard of him doping
  4. Are there any users of the Cyclo 90 in-season plans on the Hub?
  5. Glad to know that the wheel turns.
  6. The reason for asking this question is that I am one of those cyclists in the picture busy overtaking aforementioned tools and I clearly indicated before we overtook and it was clear to do so. What irks me is that freaking idiot of a photographer/journalist goes and labels us law-breakers without really showing the context. I have good mind and stopping next time I see him along the road just to deliver a swift kick to the gonads I now have to explain to my kids why I'm a "law-breaker"
  7. Hey Nadie; what happened with this story? Was it your buddies bike? Just interested to know the outcome.
  8. A question to the wise: If three cyclist in single file come up behind a bunch of tools riding 2 abreast and weaving all over the road; are they allowed to overtake these tools when it is safe to do so (while obviously indicating to the traffic behind before doing so)?
  9. I sincerely hope for your buddy's sake it's not a case of mistaken identity.
  10. Yeah hopefully the thieves nuts in a vice and your hands on the handle. Seriously I hope it turns out "all for the good" for you guys.
  11. Is it only me, or are the groups a bit too big for such a flattish race; especially through the technical sections through Paarl. Very hairy.
  12. I see the results are up on Racetec

  14. Exactly what I was thinking. So I forked out a good few ZARs for a minimal discount on the Burger, ACT and 99er entries??? I want my PPA membership refunded.
  15. If SA Rugby covered up doping what do you expect? Anyone remember the Pierre Spies "hereditary disease"; which cleared up miraculously. SARU was tipped off that he tested positive and it was all swept under the carpet. So he was withdrawn from that World cup squad because of some "hereditary disorder" of some sort, so that he could "live to fight another day" so to speak. This is one of the worst kept secrets. The point is this that if they (SARU) weren't prepared to make an example of a top star, what example is that to the up and coming Spies's at high school?

    EPO usage

There are quite a few dead athletes/cyclists etc who would beg to disagree with that statement.
  17. I am concerned by the lack of comment by some of the top pro's (only Robbie H (AFAIK)commented; no surprise there; and KE ) I hope I'm wrong but there must be some nervous guys out there waiting for the fallout from DG's hearing.
  18. An interesting view from one of the young pros, where he echoes my view on those "coming clean".Routley speaks up for clean athletes
  19. Does any-one know if the Joostenberg Race will still be taking place this weekend? I don't see anything on the PPA calendar.
  20. I see SKINS is suing the UCI for 2million big ones; for perceived damages as a result of their "handling" of doping. The fun starts now.
  21. And just when you come up behind a bunch of fools riding two/three abreast some-one takes a photo and prints it in the paper. How's that for bad luck?
  22. Hey G, keep up the good work. When do we see you on the road again.
  23. +1 He is the only mech i fully trust to work on my bike, no questions asked. I can't vouch for the others; although there is one former mech there whose name I wont mention, who i wouldnt trust as far as I could throw him. Let me just say that I wont be frequenting the 2 shops he has since established.
  24. I see on cyclingnews.com that Bobby J also confessed to doping pre-1998. But he confessed "like a man should", taking full responsibility and not the usual "everybody did it so I had to dope......." bullsh1t .
