  1. Have you tried changing your riding style. With compact cranks I found that I had to use the big ring more often and I tended to cross chain more, but used more of the cassette. I found that the I had to stay on the big blade for the whole 99er (old route) and burger (except for Hels) but I felt quite fresh. I rode 50/34 11-23 for a good few years but as I moved up the seedings I had to go back to normal cranks just to keep up on the long descents and flats in races like the Argus. The change to normal took a whole season to get used to. Ps. I went from normal to compact and back to normal
  2. I agree especially after reading how "over the moon" the yanks are about their best ever result in olympic mtb; 10th and 15th. So Burry was on his own with a fraction of the USA budget and he was up front making a race of it, kudos to him.
  3. Maybe he was trying to save you from making a frivolous and unnecessary purchase (tongue in cheek). A prize example of some salesman's condescending attitude and the overestimation of his expertise. I personally would've kicked him squarely in the nuts just to show that i have too much of a right foot for his nuts.
  4. in english please
  5. I think that's why there are no radios and the teams are limited to 5. It would be difficult to mark every move without "remote control" and then still set up a train with only 5 guys after 200+ kms.
  6. oh! from the excitement I gathered that Teazers had opened in JBay
  7. brilliantly simple
  8. The good doc ferrari, claims that the only reason he did not contest is that he never knew or was informed about the charges against him....? the article is on the velonation news website. http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12377
  9. performance enhancing ganja perhaps??
  10. What about janez brajkovic of Astana?
  11. I am no expert; but having used hrm training for a good number of years. I have found the HRR method to be more successful because the zones shift as you get fitter. Your resting HR normally drops as you get fitter,so your HRR and zones shift. It is a bit more complicated for the average person thou and you have to monitor your RHR regularly.
  12. Yeah he introduced himself as Andy....I wasn't present..but couldn't believe that some-one could be such a wannabe...he could've at least bought a Trek and the proper kit
  13. A buddy saw him and started chatting to him. I'm not convinced, because Andy was getting whipped in the Dauphine a few hours later. The bike also isn't a Trek and he's wearing the LeopardTrek gear??
  14. Does any-one know who this guy is? Was on chappies yesterday, pretending to be Andy Schleck.
  15. Did you read his quote after the prologue on supersport news ? "I've never been with the strongest when I race the Tour de Suisse but then I'm always stronger in July," Schleck told French television. "I'm going okay for now." Yeah right
  16. why don't you just go and look for say, a 2nd hand Demo 8 or whatever at his shop. I'm sure he'll be too happy to try and "source" one for you. Just be sneaky and "sting" him I say.
  17. As tough as it may be.....just be honest with yourself(totally honest). If you aren't feeling 100% like you did before your illness wait until you are. It is offseason and it is not worth risking it. I am still suffering the consequences of not listening to that small voice, fortunately not too serious.
  18. I was not holding my breath (been disappointed too much); to much macho bluster, no result; yes I know, before you say it; I'm not a pro can't even pretend to be on one of my best days, but I'm just frustrated
  19. as much as I hate dislike the Schleck girls; Bruyneel made that statement when he was interviewed before the abandon. Let us not be tabloid journos
  20. A pair of what?....... Breasts?
  21. Hey BB did you post a complaint on Hellopeter? Just asking 'cos experience has taught me that many company top brass keep tabs on that site. Maybe you can get some more "satisfaction" and "spread/share the stress".
  22. am I the only person who's frustrated with Cunego; so much promise and no delivery every year
  23. Nice handle bars
  24. I say bud, you'll make an excellent politician or tabloid journo. We obviously quoted you "out of context"
  25. I'm not confused, because he did mention that he was drunk when he ranted and raved.
