Interesting fact; I had an argument with my physician during my last check-up. He was adamant that it was impossible that my Max HR was 192 as I was 44yrs old. During the "stress test" I hardly broke a sweat and was idling at about 156bpm even that didn't convince him. He said that there must be something wrong with my HRM

Everybody seems to miss one important point. ullrich was let down by his team strategy on more than one occasion and no amount of doping on his side was going to make him as successful as LA. He never really had a team fully devoted to the cause of winning the yellow jersey only, he had to share some of his resources with Zabel and later on he had to contend with Kloden and Vino usurping his authority. There were many other teams who were doping and had talented riders, but just did not have a focused strategy. IMHO

Watch the docu-movie "Bigger, Faster, Stronger. It's about steriod use Yank-style. A freaking interesting eye-opener. It dispels the myth that only the Eastern block countries were doing it.

It would be interesting to know how many of these fatalities are related to insufficient rest/sleep/recovery. I'm sure a lot of these guys were high-powered execs, in stressful jobs where late nights and long hours are par for the course and sleep/rest isn't always top priority. They are normally driven and very competitive individuals, so will push their training even when rest is needed. Coupled with the "time pressures" of married/family life and advancing age this is a potential problem. There was this top Indian exec, in his 40's, who was an avid marathon runner who died a few years ago and his passing was attributed to basically all of the above.

A good few years back a motorist swerved to avoid taking out a cyclist on the lower main rd between the Snowflake factory and Hartleyvale stadium coming down the bridge; he ended up in the river and drowned. Yes the score Motorist vs Cyclists is still heavily weighted towards the motorist.

Yeah but the big difference and the one which caused the post in the first place; you are selling "blanks" at reasonable prices, where the other tjop/s are selling fakes branded as dogmas for a few pennies more. So if you have the bucks and want to spend it on a real Dogma (the same reason middle aged rich/not so rich, toupee wearing guys buy ferraris/porsches etc) go ahead, it's a choice no one's holding a gun to your head. If you can't afford/dont want to spend the money, then buy a blank, but don't try and justify it with the "same factory/moulds/materials bullish!t; you've taken the cheaper option be proud of it, don't hide behind fake decals. Remember Fiats were built in the Ferrari factories too :-)
