New Classifieds Section

This is definitely a RAVE!!! New section is fantastic! Very user friendly and I like the option to customise searches.

It occurs to me that some HUBBERS are not liking the new Classifieds Section including myself.

hi admin...old classified still appears on the mobi site...what am i doing wrong ?

I also prefer the older one. The biggest draw back is that the post does not move back to the top when a comment is posted.

 

I have the same problem with the Mobi Site..........it does not show the new postings (since the upgrades)

Alot less bumping going on Unfortunately the good stuff disappears with the bad.

 

Personally, I liked the idea of bumping my ads up every 2 hours for 4 months

 

I posted something on gumtree recently and within 2 days it was on page 10! The only way to promote your ad is to pay..only R15...but...hmm..if it doesn't sell within 2 days...is not going to be found

The navigation on the Mobi site needs a little work. For now I've added a direct link to the new Classifieds section in the menu which should help.

It's mostly a space issue. We could look at adding it in near the bottom of the left column.

I've had some feedback on the bumping issue already. It obviously is a drawback for sellers, but there was way too much bumping going on before. With the new Classifieds you can switch views to order by date listed or by the date of last comment. Ordering by date of last comment gives a better idea of "what's hot" and is exactly the same as the way the previous classifieds worked. The key difference is that the default view is by date listed.

 

In updates coming soon you'll be able to set your preference i.t.o. how ads should be ordered by default.

I think its much better you can search exactly what you want without going through piles of unrelated stuff. Well done guys

Exactly, the new classifieds can be setup to work and look exactly like the old classifieds if you like, but it is just soooo much better for everything else.
