Thats nothing, i have a 1:45 for the 25km MTB race 1:30 actual) and i didn't even wear my chip as i rode with a friend who's starting mtb'ing and i didnt want the time to affect my seeding. Maybe i have a chip implant somewhere...

Garmin says 5:11, Racetec says 5:20.....

It was my first, and I am not too concerned about time, but yes these differences should be adressed...

Friend of mine did the 32km MTB Argus and finished 3rd according to Racetec timing, but was not considered for a position prize because he did not start in the A group. So much for timed racing while nowhere on their rules and regulations page is mentioned that you will only be considered for a position prize if you start in the correct group. I will not ride such a race, thank you!

Anyone else had this problem? Hope it is sorted out by the time the official results are published, otherwise my reputation will be ruined!

For not starting in VA with the rest of us oldies, your reputation is already ruined! And the pain and suffering we experienced in past years never materialised - we had a rather pleasant ride. VA wasn't quite the same without you...

Just called Racetech who say that the times will revert to the same times as first reported on Monday.

Thanks A Jay will wait a while before I throw my toys.

because my dad was late for his group they also added 6min to his completion time... I think it's a bit silly... why dont the chips register your time only when u go pass the timing matt?

Same here, dropped down to start with my son.

His start time was 20 min after mine and this has been added to my actual time.

What are the timing mats used for?

A slow or bad time can never negatively affect your normal PPA seeding! Actually, even a slow time is better than no time. Think about it ;)
