Even chat from within the team seems to suggest now that a lot of Yen will be exchanged to lire, most likely to be re-exchanged into pounds, all to complete the two longest-running rumours in F1.

Interesting how the are playing this, with neither Alonso wanting to come across as putting himself before the team and the team wanting to come across that they aren't being bullied by Alonso's wish to leave.

In my opinion, it is in both Alonso’s and Ferrari’s best interested to stick together in 2015.

Alonso: No one knows what Honda / McLaren will be able to do next year. They have the best engine on the grid this year and the team he is so unhappy with is outracing them. Chances are 2015 will be a building block for them too. It will be to their benefit to have him there next year. Not his.

Ferrari: If they have their eye on rebuilding and getting back to the top it wouldn’t make sense to boot the best all round driver on the grid. If anything if I was them I’d try my absolute best to hang on. There will be no use having a much better package next year and only have drivers who get on the podium at occasionally wit the odd win or two. They need someone to drag the last darn horse out of the car, spur them on, take them to greater heights so they can believe again.

Rather boot Raikkonen if you have your eye on the future. His fast, but lack-luster. Get a blindingly fast and reliable rookie / youngster in there to learn next year who can be the next big thing in 2016 when the horse is on it’s hind legs. Like a Ricciardo. Look what he’s do to RBR’s mindset. They KNOW now that it won’t be the end of the world should Seb leave next year or in 2016. They have a title contender in the other already. Ready to go.

Keep Alonso, boot Raikkonen and hire Ricciardo, Bottas or go all out risk and sign Kvyat

I cannot agree with you more! Much as I like Kimi and his style (or lack thereof)... I'd rather keep Alonso and get a youngster in next to him.

...and so the second part of this is confirmed before the first. Vettel out of RBR (to Ferrari - which isn't actually confirmed, but Horner believes that to be the case), numerous sources. And RB already announced Kvyat to move up from STR - very good move, in my opinion.

And Lewis off in FP3, leaving Merc in a race to rebuild his front suspension (at least). Darnit, that put my superbru picks under pressure...

I will, of course giggle till tomorrow if it's not Alonso leaving Ferrari...

Interesting about this is how RB just never lets a good press opportunity slip. They made sure they gave the first "real news" about this saga. Whoever announced whichever moves now, it will only be "oh ja, knew that was coming".

Very true. All we know for sure is that Vettel is leaving Red Bull, and Kvyat is replacing him. They might leave us hanging a bit longer I think.

on the actual race, lets hope the typhoon doesnt ruin, or cancel tomorrows race.

The win was Hamilton's eighth of the season and first at Suzuka, with his only other win in Japan coming at the Fuji circuit with McLaren in 2007.

The race was red-flagged with 46 of the scheduled 53 laps completed after an accident involving Sauber's Adrian Sutil and Bianchi brought the safety car out for the third time.

Horner only metioned where Seb is going to keep Red Bull in the headlines. If he didn't it would just be about Seb. By name dropping Ferrari everytime someone mentions Either Seb or ferrari they will mention RedBull. clever marketing.

Seb to Ferrrari.....? Maybe

Seb to McLaren...? MAYBE

Vettel definitely going to Ferrari. There was a pre-race interview, where it was asked if he was heading to Ferrari. He said he couldn't comment, but he had this huge, guilty smile when Ferrari was mentioned.
