I know this has been raised a few times but how brain dead do you have to be to ride/run in the dark without a light?!! I almost rode over a bunch of runners this morning while out training. No lights, reflective bands, vests, NOTHING! See a few cyclists on my way to the gym as well without any lights. What is wrong with them? Most people on the road at 4:30 the morning are probably still half asleep and if they can't see you there is a good chance they are going to hit you.

Having said that, after messing around with flashing LEDs, torches attached to the bars with plumbing fittings and various incarnations of home made lights for a while, I decided to spend the money and bought myself a proper light to both see where I am going in the early hours and for other people to see me. My life is worth more than a few hundred bucks, so money well spent. 900 claimed lumens!! Enough to melt the smash and grab from your windows!

Good luck to the organ donors!!

Yea. They obviously haven't taken into consideration the FOOLISH actions of a potential organ donor/organ donor's donor on the N.A.G thread!

I am also commuting with this light. I use it in the flashing mode. Even fortuner drivers give me right of way.

I have now bought the rear light from the same source and will try it out next week.

I read that the light output of a car head light is about 500 lumens. The bike light's output is comparable to a car's HID headlight! Can't wait for it to arive!

I use lights in the daytime as well, dusty dirt roads also make for hazzardous riding conditions.

Pity the NAG thread got binned, did not really agree that there were any personal insults. Call a spade a spade...

Didn't read the N.A.G. thread - damn - clearly I missed something.

Anyone car to give me a diplomatically correct summary of what happened?

(Edit: Apologies for the highjack)
