Maybe I shouldn't have ridden. A Maniac took us out at the bottom of Jan Smuts (after Hyde Park Corner).

Here's my left arm.

And that's the beginning.

The valium tablets they gave me at hospital are great. To get them, just get into pile-up at about 65-70km/h - easy.

I'm new to this roadie stuff and was amazed at how many people stop, change lanes etc without even looking ......... and don't even get me started about this 'KEEP LEFT' rule we have in everyday driving.

Warped, how did the accident happen and btw, morphine's much better!

Thanks for the concern, guys.

Bike dinged, jockey smashed, helmet smashed, glasses smashed.

Some guy who does not seem to be trained in bunch riding came sailing up behind me into my right shoulder. My response was to lean on him and keep upright, which has happened before and I can handle. However he then proceeded to take out the guy in front of me as well and then all hell broke loose and they came down, bringing about 10 of us down. As it happens, he and I were in the same ambulance going to hospital and he kept on apologising. Too late! He seemed to have broken ribs.

My left leg worries me - I cannot walk, as my glute took a heavy blow and the quad won't work properly. My right shoulder and neck are also not happy. Roasties will heal!

I now don't know what to do - see the thread about going back to open groups vs Licenced Vets:

Riding with licenced vets is TOUGH, but enjoyable from a safety point of view. I suppose I should train harder and licence to keep in one piece.

warped, not good at all. the guys were saying there were some nasty incidents and i was so hoping no hubbers were involved. heal up soon - if it hurts lots then ask the doc for letagesic or tramahexal (you can't get morphine or pethadine out of hospital)

awwww that sucks Wolverine.Confused

Had almost the exact same distance on the clock with the 2006 Argus when someone decided to wreck my frame for me, so know how you feel!

But this is exactly why i don't take these big races up so seriously anymoreSleepy. Most people work towards these races for the whole year then just to be disappointed by something like this. To me the Argus is one big circus and i'm just there to enjoy it no matter what happens, ride as hard as i can and joke around when i don't feel like working.Big%20smile
