Grondpad Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Anyone know what that dam next to the N4 in PTA is called? Its on you left as soon as you go past the Rosslyn offramp heading east. Is it safe for swim training?

Other that running the risk of ending up on a fire, why would you say it not safe for training? Is it poluted or something like that? I live in the east and am really battling to find a decent spot for some open swim training

I know its a nature reserve but people do fish there so I am inclined to think I will be allowed to swim there. What do you think?

krl747 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 If you are not scared of hippos or crocks you are more than welcome to swim in Rietvlei, might help you with speed training. Ok, all jokes a side, I highly doubt they will let you swim there.

I know some of my fellow tri athletes drive out to a dam near Rustenburg somewhere to do training. Except for that do you guys know of any swimming pools where you can train, except for Virgin Active?
