Nice, how travel does the 5.5 take in the front?

I run mine with a revelation set at 150mm, but I run so much sag it looks like I only have 110mm travel when I am on the bike.

I really put my bike and my body through their paces yesterday, was awesome.

I also can't get use to big frames and taking into consideration all my other bikes this is huge

If anybody has a set of 150mm dropouts they have lying about for the Intense I want it. Just checked on CRC and the cost is R1500 per dropout :cursing:

LOL when your feet can trap the front wheel & your knees clap into your lower forearm when you pedal then the bike is to small. :w00t:

Wheelbase on the 5.5 alot tighter them my trance, head angle could do with degree or 2 slacker

Yes, the 5.5 has a steep head angle for a trail bike, but according to me, that is what gives the bike attitude, if you don't handle it correctly that pony will throw your ass in the bush!!

Add in the short wheelbase and it makes it a pretty lively filly. That's why I run the fork at 150mm to keep the HA a bit slacker. It is very sensitive to your inputs and will give you the exact response you wanted. You have to be pretty damn sure and confident of those inputs or it will bite you in the butt. But once you learn how to use it properly it is sublime.

Ye does have abit of a shopping trolley HA,thats why they say its abit twitchy..Also that the older VPP abit squirrely @ the back.Read most reviews for the 08 intense,6.6 had the most it feels squirrely, but if patches hasnt noticed it then could just be whiny yanks .

Havent got mine up yet so cant say.

Im sure slick wouldnt still be riding his 5.5 if it was crap.

Mine is a med & im 1.88, so might be small, but they are big mediums, only just smaller then my trancex large.Trance will still be my rougher ride sled.Want to build abit of racier bike with the 5.5 maybe wont even put the 150 upfront.

the 5.5 and the 6.6 both look super cramped up to me,something just doesnt look good about them, sorry not a fan

Haha, kinda like your towering inferno seat on your sukuma  :w00t:

Span post :P

Ye they older bikes dont have the newest geom, would obviously love a 2012 intense, better angles ,hydroforming..But these are classic & not 20k frames,so got to choose in life.Cant always have the best

I feel the same way looking at the Intense frames... That head angle looks a bit too steep for me.
