[Pics that make you think Why The Face!]

so what percentage cut do you get on all this marketing?

Hey can you guys lower your seats before taking these photos. These bikes look dumb with the seat above the bars like that, and I challenge you to ride a decent line with your arse so high in the air ;)

:P :P :P hahahaha that seat height has done pinned runs down Downhill Level 4 and Level 5 and Cobra @ Tokai in the rain (and i'd never seen the trails before so had no hometown knowledge  )

Has also done the full freeride trail at Giba - so as Banna says - you can run it high - but you just need to know how to ride! :P :P :P hahahahahahha

I hear what you're saying, and I've heard it often enough. But if you can do all of that with the seat at full height you will ^%$ yourself for yourself when you drop it. It makes a BIG difference. Big.

I agree dude - dont get me wrong. But thats why I have a DH bike too that i race. But its nice to challenge yourself as a downhiller by riding trails that you should put your seat down on with it at XC setup. When i rode DH Level 5 the other month I nearly went out the front door twice as i came into sections too fast and with that setup you cant get back quick enough! But that type of riding REALLY sharpens your skills for DH as you learn to save almost anything! - and also that bike is my XC bike too so has to have the seat that high!

Just janking your chain. ;) Agreed, it makes a moer of difference when your saddle is safely tucked way. Just the fact that you know your baggies won't get caught on the saddle when you're about to launch it, is enough reason to stow that bugger the hell away!

PLUS, these bikes look really stupid with the seat so high, like a creamed up XC bike. Ride with the seat however you want, but drop it for photos. Your bike will thank you for it ;)

Sure! Cool reminder that some guys on here actually have skill! From your point of view it makes sense - cause you know and understand the benefit. Just gets me when XC / Trail riders who've never tried it puts up a big argument and stink when the drop our saddles topic comes up. Anyway, I'm a firm believer of do what you want / suits you best - hence the gripshifts on my bike.

NOW LETS SEE SOME ACTION PICS!

NOW LETS SEE SOME ACTION PICS!

Permission to post some action pics of a 100mm travel (front and back) bike?!

I know it doesn't qualify as an AM, but it's my AM bike (until I can add a Mbuzi to the stable). Don't worry, it's not an XC bike. Oh, and my seat is also lowered

hehe, thanks man. I REALLY like your bike btw, but my eyes had this terrible buring sensation when I saw the high saddle ;) I'd reckon it's pretty hard to do decent DH with a seat that high. There's no room to move. I'd choose a BMX first. But seriously leka bike man. I almost hate you right now.

No, I'm referring to the bum cream thing. I just can't look at an XC bike the same anymore. http://circlecitybicycles.com/cbutter.htm

hahaha it obviously stems from teh old school days of DH - these pics are of me racing NATIONAL DH at Paarl in 1995!

1inch front travel, plastic brakes, skater knee guards, lycra leggings, and romo pot helmet! Gotta Love it ... oh and that is a young Pat Morewood standing on the side in the first pic in the Jowetts shirt! With Paul Walton (Fabian Barels mechanic) sitting on the haybale
