Well I was in Edgards for two hours yesterday and no-one acknowledged me there either, I was also browsing, and had money to buy stuff.

You didn't see me starting a thread about Edgars's Poor Customer service this morning!!!

I wanted to buy a nice Shirt & Tie for a wedding, and... I had to ask someone to help me find the stuff that I'm looking for.

That's just the way it is...

Well after I asked someone, they found something for me, and I bought it.

Your sideswipe at the store in question is not justified by genuine Bad Service, but based on a perception that is fueled because you feel hard done by the fact that you were not attended to personally within 30 seconds.

Did you ask someone to help you? Nope!!! Then you cannot really complain!!!

Tell me, do you go to Steers and Nandos? cause you might be disappointed that you actually have to approach the service counter and ask someone for your order there as well, they do not service you at the table like they would at the Spur...

For everyone of you, I know 25 people that are very happy with the Service that they receive at Westdene Cycles

It will be very funny if they put up a sign over the counter "Please place order here"

Bikestores aren't clothing stores. You can't wander around and touchthings and check out their prices, in bikestores most "good" parts are behind the counter, in a drawer, wherever not jumping at you, often you have to enquire about prices.

Also in contradiction you can't just try on a new clutch like you can when buying a new shirt. Clothes you put on, like, don't like them. Bike parts usually need lots of information if the customer isn't a bike geek.

Generally bike stores are small and easy to survey. So as an employee you should spot a customer wandering around. After a short while you should go there and check out if you can help. It's a service business, you are supposed to do a proper sales and info talk and sell stuff. That's your job.

If you are hectically busy a good salesperson at least shows the unattended customer that he's aware of his presence!

If the employees or even the owner don't go and see to their customers it's a bad service! But still one would have the opportunity to go and get some attention, especially as a grown up. If you don't like to do so it's your choice, but no reason to start this thread, especially if the store is rather known for good prices than bad service.

I thought that was what the "Welcome" sign at the door mean't.

The poor guys at the counter (in front of the part that Wannabe wanted) must have been wondering why this customer kept on coming to stand in front of the counter and glare at them.

Just got the mental picture - surely that would be the right time to ask - when you are standing in front of the salesman who is standing in front of the BBB part looking at you glaring at him!!!!LOLLOLLOLLOL

I can just see them thinking "damn, wierd customer" as he walked out the door !!!LOLLOLLOLLOL

Dit is my reg as klient wat ek sal uitvoer.

Well then I have to add half the bikeshops in Jhb on the list of shops with poor customer service, especially on Saturdays, as there are many bikeshops where you have to go to the counter to ask for something if you want it.

It is a Lame argument!!!!

I have had bad service from this shop and will not use them again!

I do not understand why when someone has bad service from a bike shop, they get jumped on when they complain, like they committed a crime by going there in the first place???

There is bad service out there and it needs to be highlighted and eradicated.
