Just be aware that Cool Runnings is pretty much FUBAR from the epic.  Nearly had my hands blown off the bars from all the massive brakebumps.  Not sure how they're going to fix that, because it has kind of ruined the trail IMO.

To dry to fix anything at the moment, we will get to it as soon as it has rain a bit.

On the way up, I thought that the Black did not look that bad. When I hit the Full Monty descent, I started gunning it and went OTB on the first switchback. Very loose. Front wheel just dug in, as I was going a bit fast. Rest of the descents also felt sketchy at times. Will wait till after the first rains, before I do it again.

White is fine, right?

Rode the white route today with the girlfiend. Smiled all the way.  Absolutely stunning. Loved the rough and rutted trails. You okes complaining need trail bikes.

Really not complaining. Just saying. I understand that the trail builder can do nothing about it right now. Black is actually really sketchy and I was a bit shaken after going OTB. I have no problem with a few ruts and I do have a trail bike...

White is absolutely stunning. Condition fine. Don't be fooled by the colour convention used...

Really should have opted for White today. Such beautiful vistas too, but I was concerned about wind. Then, as you saw, Black tried to kill me. Haha!  :cursing:

I did the black route for the first time today. Enjoyed it, but I reckon it's the toughest trail in the western cape! I prefer the white route, lots more fun. The black route isn't too badly rutted, but almost came off on one switchback on cool runnings when my front wheel went into a huge rut!

Heading out there tomorrow for a spin, so is it better to do the white route then ? or just go take on black ? want to have fun but don't mind a little challenge

does anyone know, of really cool camping or B&B very close by to Welvanpas?

There is a very cool camping spot in the Bainskloof pass.  I think it is called Tweede Toll.  Right by the river with rock pools etc.  and probably 20 minutes drive from the trails.

The white route is way more fun imo. Easier than the black route, and you get more flow on the single track. If it's your first time there, do the white and you'll want to go back for black.then again, once you go black, there's no going back...
