  1. Can Anyone recommend a good wheel builder in Cape Town? And does anyone have any experience with the Lyne Carbon rims (AMP/Enduro)?
  2. My experience of fox: 1. the air shaft comes from the factory with way to much grease... do a air shaft service and use the correct amount of slick honey. 2. on 2 sets of fox I had the fork bushing were way to tight. I sent them in to Push to be corrected and came back smooth as silk. Not sure if Stoke or RBC can sort out tight bushing for you? Yes my RS have always felt way better out the box. but get the Fox sorted and its brilliant.
  3. Ill have to keep my eyes open then on Sunday. Just this one little pond that is rather mank though next to the bricked road.
  4. Rode there last weekend and the trails are really riding well.(Great work B'sorah team) My only complaint and its a very small one... is that there is no access to a water spot to swim in the summer heat. But the cold drinks at the well stocked shop make up for it.
  5. Ive never had a chainring wear a chain...but I have had a chain wear a chainring... I just had to replace my chainring yesterday as when I put a new chain and cassette on the chainring was making a horrible grinding noise (yes it squeaky clean) New steel chainring and its as smooth as new bike.
  6. Fully agree with that ... I also fine I get about 50% more millage form a X.O chain that a GX chain. Not sure if it's just me and the extra wear a ebike puts the chains through. (and I replace between 0.5 and 0.6) I use an app called MainTrack that links with my strava where I can track the millage and hours or every separate component on the bike. So I can see exactly the millage Im getting for my chains and cassettes.
  7. But according to the judgemental folk on this forum, Ebikers are fat, lazy and have no skills and no right to enjoy the outdoors on one, so to even suggest that one could actually hit a jump is blasphemy. I better go inform folks like Fabian Barel and Nicola Vouilloz , In fact every Professional EWS-E rider that they fat and lazy, and what's the point of of riding a uphill power stage when you have a motor OK- Rant over. I will continue to ride my ebike and my Alanloge and you can think what you want. It's my life, you don't know my story and I don't care to have to explain myself. Back to the Main topic ... Unrestricted on public trails, I don't agree with. Riding ebikes I do ... It's gotten me back into the sport. and I'll continue to do so for as long as it brings me enjoyment.
  8. I agree... same goes for motocross and Moto enduro ... what's the point when you have a motor
  9. Id be keen to do W2W on a Ebike... Only ever done it on a Amish bike. What pace would you be looking at ? you want to ride it or race it ? (yes I have a ebike)
  10. Just that comment makes me realise that you have no idea....
  11. More like the plough down anything market...
  12. Were you riding with the Edison of bikers ? ( Edison, that's my collective noun for group of E-bikers. )
  13. Saw one on the trail yesterday ... very nice looking bike. Solid component spec.
  14. Ebiking is not Mountainbiking, it's a whole new sport. its the same as when Mountain-bikes came on the scene and the road bikers scoffed and turned there noses up (cycling in general is full of elitists ) Ebiking is a whole new sport and it is in the process of finding its feet. One day it will be classified as different class of riding and racing on its own. There are many teething problems and they will eventually be sorted and once the numbers grow enough there will be events that are ebike specific and there wont be the cross contamination that some of the elitist on here are moaning about. But totally off topic now... De-restricting ebikes is uncool. Just like some drugs
  15. Wonder if they will have a frame and motor only option. would love to build this with Linkglide.
  16. 45km/h on road bike ? oh my I feel cheated now. I want a E-road bike now
  17. Separate Groups and start times far enough away from the first Racing batch. There is no different to those de restricting bikes and those on analog bikes taking PEDS ... even better if separate routes with more climbing and tech like power stages in E-EWS (A un-realistic dream) One battery Rule (Could be some complaining there, and also some event could loose a lot of support) Unless you on a road Ebike, de restricting is not all cracked out what its meant to be.... going over that 32kph limit eats through battery at such a rate, I personally don't think its worth it. Oh and my Max speed is faster on my Armnish bike than my E-bike.
  18. 25kph ? that's slow ... in SA we go 32kph..
  19. That is so awesome. I do like the Lyne Brand.
  20. That's just another Cycle Lab cycle on a Saturday in the cradle ..... Seems they have spread to the Cape since taking over CWC
  21. Anyone know how to get in touch the folk at Armoured-Ride . I ordered a complete custom wrap and a few other things, but seem to have an issue, and they don't seem to eager communicate once they have your money. Rather disappointing. TBC Finally managed to get in touch. All sorted
  22. Yay .. open again. How wonderful
