Just waiting for the cool weather to come, then almost our entire family will hit the trails.

The Gravel Travel 50km, how tough is that one?  I did the 40km Trailseeker at Grabouw last year, and my legs just made it.  On the other hand, I lost 5kg since then (now 82kgs , 1.82 tall), and my legs are better now.

I went there on Wednesday with my brother in law.

Did the blue route and then wanted to do yellow only, but some of the turn-offs of the black route just looked too good to pass on.

Ended up climbing 1350m in 38km. I was spent.

I'd like to see the descend from the top of the yellow/black route being slightly less steep, had to sit on the brakes most of the way with gradients reaching averages of -13% over 500m stretches.

Awesome trails though.

It's tougher than the Grabouw race. Bring your climbing legs.

Ja, let's hope it is not the same mud fest as the 2014 race.  In 2014 me and my son did the 35km route, which turned out to be 38km in the end, through the slippery mud.  It was a tough race, and my legs started cramping 2km before the end.

Noooo, this is trail bike territory. Don't dumb down the trails, up your skill level.

We did a lekker mishmash of the white and yellow on Friday. Some trees have blown over on route66 and full monty part 3 and I think after the rain and wind of the weekend al there will be more trees lying over the trails.

Are these the trails at Welvanpas?I'm not familier with the trails in the Wellington region, but passed by Welvanpas on my way to the 2nd waterpoint on day 4 of the Epic and saw a few singletrack trails of the main gravel road.

did white and yellow today. tip top conditions just after the weekend rain. and quite a few bikes out there. one oke admitted he was escaping from home as the easter weekend was just that bit too long with the in-laws taking over.

1st 10km of white is really fun, thereafter gets harder but this a proper riding. gotta have some fitness otherwise you could lose your sense of humour. as far as 30km rides go this must be up there with the best.

yellow is no pushover ride. a gentle start but the clubs continues for about 8km and then oooooh aaaa a lot of fun. still smiling after cool runnings.
