Hi

I'n brining a group of people to Wellington on Saturday 17th. What time does the trails open, and what time do you reckon we should start riding to beat the heat. We plan on doing all 3loops. I was thinking 7 or 7h30.

Is there an honesty box for us for our trail permits? Or will the office coffee shop be open yet?.

Anyhoo... Can't wait!

You should start at 6am. See Saturdays is suppose to be 25 degrees max. Sunday will be hot. You can pay Dan @ Welvanpas afterwards. It is Harvest festival in Wellington this coming weekend. Doollhof, Dunstone, Nabygelegen and Leliefontein is all in close range if wine is youre thing. Enjoy youre ride. If you take pics load them here or on our facebook site.

Thats what I like about this place. Its always improving and changing.

On grape escape I was thinking of porting across the river and when I got there, there was a bridge.

I just wish there could be some more shade out there.

Soon my friend the gods will speak the heavens will open water shall grace the trails and there shall be no need for shade :)

Thanks for calling that ride Philip.

It was a great loop ... even though I came late and rode with the Blue route group it was a great ride with a couple of nice fast section where you can very easily pick up too much speed (A good thing).

One of the things I was reminded of very quickly on the route though was that you can not brake when in the air ....

I do however believe that the route has changed a fair bit with lots of ST sections being cut out. Is this true?

I really liked that the climbing on the Blue Route is rather "passive" with nice recovery sections between the little climbs. Makes for a fun ride, especially for those who are a little "less fit" or if you are on a SS.
