I have Tiagra on my tandem and if you're riding the grouppo socially - and not have to do quick seamless shifting then my opinion is don't waste money on the upgrade. DRIVETRAIN Posted December 7, 2007 Share If it's on a training bike then nothing wrong with that - However I used to ride Tiagra & had no problems for a long time ...... even raced with it,,,upgraded to 105 10sp & the difference / smoothness & shifting was felt almost instantly .... Dunno about it not being available shortly, as chainreaction still has 9sp ultegra groupo's for sale. Done close to 15000km on my Tiagra groupo. Only replaced chain twice. I have Ultegra 10 speed on my racing bike, have not had any issues with it, other than the chain lasting less than 2000km! was a shock to me, after looking after it so well. I am contemplating selling my Ultegra grouppo, and replacing it with Veloce 10 speed, any logic in that? I've heard that Campag grouppos wear much slower than Shimano? thats my main motive....
