Bar-one Peanut Power

Since I can't stand energy bars, Gu, protein shakes, etc, I stick to eating chocolates during rides.

I have recently discovered the miracle that is the Bar-one Peanut Power chocolate.

More energy, more protein and it tastes awesome. It's also not as chewy or sweet as the normal Bar-one so you can get it down pretty easily and it doesn't burn your throat.

One of these an hour and you're sorted.

Flip, I love these things. (Sorry, I must sound like a tub of lard, but I'm actually not)

In the old days we race with 1/2 coke 1/2 water and a bar one and it did the trick

Still do when my first camelback runs dry...Shows in my results and my gut as well.

The black cat peanut butter bars are good too and a nice size for a chow during riding.

Do you only race in winter or the north pole?

Or does it become a nice gooey choco peanut gel after an hour in your back pocket?

hahaha! I had one of these, at the karoo 2 coast it melted in the heat....it ended up being Gu...my face looked like a young kid who ate chocolate sauce and never mind my hands...what a disaster! It does taste good tho....but not for heat at all!

Saw this in a local mag once. Freeze one of your bottles with a Bar- One or Snickers in and when bottle thaws the bar is still good and not gooey. Ive being trying the Low Gi date and apple bars from woolies. They good too and dont melt easy cos theres no choc in. Goes down easy too

My wife insists on calling it a CamelbaG and no matter what I do, that's what she'll call it. It always conjure up images of something hanging between a camels' legs. Yugh. Sometimes you just have to accept them, little faults and all.

Tried the Peanut Bar One and it is really nice. The MOF bought some "fresh" Snicker Bars back from her visit to the States and some Jelly Belly's....Now life is perfect!
