Take balls to take option 2...David maybe the only guy I know that took option 2!

o ja...David is 37! :)

ja - I dont think dave has ever backed down from a challenge. He is by far the most aggressive rider I know. He will attack, attack, attack until he falls off his bike.

Bit like Jacque Fullard..... i might be wrong, but he's 37 or 38 years old and i saw he came 9th at lost city? Another working class threat to the pro's and then comes and torments us at amashova in VB....

More aggressive than the colonel? Oh, no, wait, the colonel is the most aggressive rider off his bicycle...

Scary thing is that you have 3 good pro Cape Town teams with good pro riders (raced in Europe this winter) and still not be able to bring back the break or bring the racing to Bonitas.

Which 3 Teams in CT are Pro?

Colonel paced us up the climb, initiated the split, only to have most of the break sit up for the remainder of the race. If a few of us hadn't done the work of 10 guys we would have been caught easily.

Yeah, I know he is one of the few (ex)hubbers whose legs can back up his mouth ;)

Damnit - I'm riding W2W with him - I can feel the pain and suffering already...

The one's that has riders in that does not work and ride a bicycle for pocket money. :D

I don't know any CT teams that pay riders to sit at home and only train. Pay their accommodation and travel or supply transportation or a salary to pay for all of those... Even the riders that go to Belgium do so at their own expense and work for test teams etc to gain experience. they certainly do not earn a salary.

That being said, having one or two riders on a team that is not a full time student or employed elsewhere, does not constitute a pro team.

Bonitas guys ride for a living, they have ample training time, dedicated staff organising their lives and have naps while most of us are at work. You cannot expect working class riders to keep up...we try but in the end a pro will always have an "extra gear"

YES DG had a great ride, he backed himself and planned well. But in honesty, if Bonitas wanted him gone he would have got spat out the back very quickly. Just like the rest of the working class heroes up Riebeek Kasteel.

You just summarized my whole point there. :)

Of course you right by saying that "we cannot compete with the upcountry pro's" BUT by sitting there and hope for the best is not helping, attack bring the racing to them and see how it plans out.

Next time our Capies must just give them more aggressive racing. :cursing:

so why did NOT 1 SINGLE other elite rider attack up bothmas? Thats my whole point. dave is more agressive than any other rider out there. everyone else was "meh - bonitas will catch us so whats the point". Dave went and made an attempt, which is more than anyone else who rode elite can say

He didn't attack on the climb, he went on the Hermon turn-off. This was after I attacked, followed by my team mate and everything got brought back.

Dave was lucky enough to go alone (seen as less threat), after we had already put in huge efforts - so couldn't go along with him...

there were 4-5 attacks all non Bonitas that went before, DG's stuck. Lucky him.
