For the first time riding my bike until I nearly puked....looking forward to the day when I DO actually puke from riding so hard. Sounds sick' date=' but I think it requires a certain level of commitment to push that hard and I don't have it in me yet
[/quote']

You're nuts - I have been there, and I don't recommend it....

I'm sure it's not fun. I don't doubt that.....but dammit just once I want to know what it feels like to give that much!

Has happened to me on a few occasions...normally throw up on the warm down and I definately don't enjoy it or feel that it has helped, if anything I think it does more damage than good

I remember reading somewhere about a XC who went so hard that he passed out... And then another guy said that he wanted the gene that enabled him to go that hard!

And, just to keep it on track - my highlight of the year was getting my lazy ass back on the bike and keeping it there even when it was kicking and screaming for the couch! Bring on 2008!

I'm pretty sure that was Mark Weir....could be wrong though.

I haven't read it myself but I think TitusTi read it to us once out of a friend's book while we were hanging out.

Think it's a segment from Brian Lopes' book....?

An incredible year. after ten years off the bike (bar a few false starts) this had to be the best. I'm back (well almost)

1/ Going throught the Alphabet in one year from Z group to A group .

2/ Early morning winter rides in the mist, when snug as a bug in my thermal cycling rug.

3/ Amashova: Glad to see I can still climb.

3/ Bakwena : Glad to see I still can't sprint

Taking the leap and looking forward to playing with the Vet boys next year

High - Watching the Giro di Italia on RAI, the race was magnificient, but some of the gorgeous Italian lasses, (commentating and on the road) made even the dull stages interesting.Thumbs%20Up

Low - The TDF with all its baggage and issues, and listening to Phil and Paul drone on and on about some or other cotton field.Thumbs%20Down

My year started from a low low to a great high..... I went through a bad patch during my divorce and basically my old man started me on cycling, joined the hub and did my first race (D2D) with my old man (MichaelH).

What a great sport...Thumbs%20Up with some great people... thanks guys.

Knocking 2h04 off my Ironman time and realising that the bike leg is my strength out of the 3 disciplines as I ranked 165 out of over 1600 people, including 40 odd pro's. Hopefully I will shave more time off next year.
