I have to agree though, Ellsworth is like Kona: Good bikes, but @#$ing ugly. My eyes hurt when I look at them. As if those ugly long rocker arms aren't enough, the paint jobs just put it over the top.

No worries! To me mtb and "pretty" don't go well together. I like Horst-link suspension and aluminium frames. I also like the finish on the frame - it is anodized, not painted, it has better scratch resistance than paint. Like I said, I think Ellsworths are nice, although all the paint jobs on offer don't work for me either.

 

That said (hijack on), I find Alfas pretty in the way a TT bike is pretty:
