A very fast path to selection would be for a bowler to be able to bowl 4 or 5 toe crunchers in an over. Too bad Alfonso Thomas emigrated.

No Donald, no Pollock, so we have no seamer that can maintain at least a consistent line and length, never mind bowl a handful of yorkers. Sad, innit?

The Lankans imploding.

Still early days.

Really really hope the Windies can triumph!

Yeah, glad I put beers on this match.

Another one gone.

64/6 in 14? Holy smoke!

Im happy WI won, they needed this more than any other of the bigger teams.

Strange game, WI were struggling, except Samuels, although 2 or 3 of their batsmen got poor descisions from Simon Taufel. (imo one review per side should be given)

Also would have been nice if SL won in front of their home crowd, but it looks as if they just folded under the pressure.

Think it was the possibility of rain halfway through their batting innings and the fact that they were way behind on D/L that caused that pressure.

Yea, D/L has no place in t20. I wonder how many t20 innings it predicts correctly after 5 and 10 overs. It was developed for 50 overs, before powerplays, so I would guess it is inaccurate for t20. That said, it seems to advantage the side batting second, mostly. That would be completely wrong for this type of pitch, that gets more difficult as the game goes along.

Yeah.

Personally, I think that D/L is flawed and has no place in cricket. It should be a like for like comparison. Simple. No complex list of numbers, just are you ahead on runs when the rain comes. That simple equation would have got us a bit closer to ICC silverware at any rate.

Oh, and also, as fans, I think we get cheated when they use D/L. cause most of us don't understand, or haven't bothered to try and understand, the maths, and on the face of it, it seems like a cheat.

That, or simply declare a draw or no result if it rains, or, a huge step, make the silly cricketers play in the rain like real sports-people.
