I am looking at building up a new bike and was wondering how the quality, warranty etc. of Momsen frames.

Any comments or experiences?

Probably made in Taiwan, as are a lot of other bike frames, shouldn't be a problem. Here is the warranty info from their website: Momsen Warranty.

btw, had one of the Serfas xcr3 bikes (also sold by Momsen) and had no issues with it.

I rate the carbon momsen 29ers as one of the better looking frames out there

For sure. Haven't ridden one myself so can't comment on that, but from experience you'll have the best back up and service through Two Wheels Trading. Victor Momsen has been in the industry longer than most and have been building his catalogue and Momsen brand for years now. I'm sure he won't risk all that time and money on cheap crap. He was the man at Raleigh in their glory days, before all the frame failures and price hikes and the likes.

Excellent value for money too.

Go for it.

Some of the smartest looking bikes around.

I think the Momsen frames are made in China. I hope the carbon frames are not the same quality as the Raleigh RC team ones he did?

Where else did you think it was made? Where does sintesi come from?

We are talking about a small batch of frames that Raleigh burned their fingers on that was blown totally out of proportion by the cycling fraternity. Raleigh replaced all those frames.

Don't be so quick to talk out of context. That was a small batch with a manufacturing fault that Raleigh very quickly replaced, remember?

One of my riding partners still has his Raleigh RC frame after many miles.

I had a momsen SL929 there was nothing wrong with the quality of the frame. There is just one thing they should consider, and that is to put a metal insert in the frame (carbon) where the chain touches the frame in the event of chainsuck. I know santa cruz, specialized etc already have that in some of there frames.

Really just as recalls on motorvehicles and the problems are all sorted, its if they do nothing about the issue where one should worry
