My winnings for the day....... I did have 9 tickets though so it made the chances greater - 1 out of nine is a good day.

2 x Kenda Kriterium tyres (as some know, I go through tyres like crazy!)

1 x Blackburn Slick red bottle cage

1 x Pedal Power bottle

1 x Pedal Power chain stay protector

Thanks to Omnico and PPA for that sponsor clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif

I'm sure it was my ticket that won those Kenda tires. I'll collect them soon.dry.png

Glad for you, good to have buddies that does not hang around for the draw and give their tickets to you.

And you know the route of the race next week well now smile.png after our recce, you shouldn't have a problem getting on the podium.

Of course, that is taking into consideration that the rider who soloed a faster time than the Elites doesn't turn up with a few of his very, very, very, very strong friends

Sad thing i am missing the cobra, I am doing the 24hour Oak Valley, but I will be ready for Bouckert ;) Yea that guy was amazingly fast....I wonder what speed he went up helz

I crossed the line for the STARS in 3rd position, but then suddenly got put back towards 4th (Excl the 2:25min STAR rider that clearly broke away from the start that no one saw)...I am a bit upset about that as I know for fact there was to infront of me as I saw them....so I doubt the positions also...

My race report....Started in STARS....the beginning was so damn slow that I eventually had to go off on the front till we hit Hellshoogte, I cycled up there with a few hubber, tourvista being one of them...so we went over trying to form a nice group...pfffft.....what a bunch of wheel suckers, I realised now in league no one works...everyone want to wheel suck....anyway...so I went a bit off the front at the back section past simondium.....then people came back and speed climbed a bit....where we turned onto the road that goes towards the R44 I broke away, was a lone ranger for about 12km but slacked down due to I know there is about 50km left...Gerrit genis and them came past so I hooked on, we all worked well together, think there was about 5, we worked all the way till over Klip heuwel and so on...we hit the R304, maintaining a nice pace, I noticed loads of people dropping off as we go...we caght a E-F bunch, (Howzit 'Dale and Marius) and went on that way, last 10km i ran out of water, I was going to throw a attack the last 3km but with a dry throat, not a good plan...finished the sprint in 3rd (no wait according to them it is 4th)...average was +-37km/h and time was abour 2h 54min, think it turned out very well.

There was also a guy that cheated, as when I was on the break towards the R44 I went past a STAR rider, the marshall saw you and I am sure you will be reported.... thumbdown.gif

Awesome seeing some hubbers...

Bud with all due respect, don't confuse the "stars" group with normal league groups. Just look at the time differences and you will see my point

Good tires. Have them on my bike. Good grip, not too heavy, good puncture resistance. thumbup1.gif thumbup1.gif

Trying to decide whether to keep them as training or racing tyres when my current ones fail....... still got a set of Conti Grand Prix (I think) that I bought on a sale at CWC last year. Bought as training tyres though. Like the fact that they have puncture resistance thumbup1.gif

what happened to our group at the end?

pace dropped alot...

If you referring to D-E group, i totally agree. When we turned left on the Malmesbury/Klipheuwel rd we basically came to a stop. Up until there the pace was actually good and we were heading for a good time. I have to say that there were 3 or 4 guys who did most of the work the entire race. Sure some of us did take a turn or 2 but those 3 or 4 rode like champions. One guy in particular, dark kit (black with green writing, i think) on a giant

Started in F, would like to thank the Outriders guys for controlling the pace and keeping things reserved over Hels - my first funride since the Argus so it was good for the confidence to be able to keep up thumbup1.gif Tried to work a bit after that but it didn't last that long, dropped off blush.png had a good one nonetheless. Thanks again and also thanks to PPA for a great event!

Started with P's n Q's for the long route. Went well till Hellies then the group fell apart. Couple of us tried putting something together again but people kept on falling off. Went at it alone eventually and cramped 30 kms from finish, from there I never recovered. Jirre dit was WARM. Also ran out of water as there was no waterpoint in last 10km. Otherwise well organised. Saw alot of long route people turning off for 75 km.

SHO! I just googled it - damn it looks good! I think I saw some at CWC....... love the matt black version! drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif

The matt black version is the Foil 20 with Ultegra.

The shiny bling one is the Foil 10 with DA ... built one up a couple of weeks ago and it was UCI legal by 100g ... after adding DA Carbon pedals, Elite bottle cages and Zipp 404 Firecrest drool.gif thumbup1.gif

(love the internal cable routing on this bike, see where the RD cable pops out thumbup1.gif )
