we need to get tourvista in on this. His pinarello, you, some CM, and riding with 'dale

You're including yourself in that Slowbee, yes?

Last year, I managed to get everyone waiting at the top of every hill (ah! the irony! the guys who don't need it are the ones who get to rest) until I had to leave them at the bottom of Military Hill (as in depart, not smoke 'em) because, as I excused myself, I still had to get to work (bwahahaha!).

Got a puncture in the race, lost 15 minutes trying to find the microscopic piece of embedded wire and get it out with my teeth, and then lost my mojo (funnily enough, in the same place as the training ride).

Tourvista - I worked out a great way to keep the correct distance from the bike in front. If I loop an old tyre or rope around your seatpost and then to my steerer tube, I'll be able to ride behind at the perfect distance all the time. Promise. Shall we test this theory in the race?

Anyone else having a slow day at work?

Given my recent saddle issues and peanut-butter sarnie induced flatulence this is not advisable.

Health & Safety and all that, sorry old chap

Its called building base or base training man...

You gotta start believing in the training concept. :D

It can make you stronger on the bike, for sure.

What were your times for the race this year?

Edit: just want to know what i'm in for

Can't answer that one ... technically, as a DNF, I suppose I'm still riding.

Or maybe that does answer your question.

No worries, Zac...

Riders with varying training goals and leg strength will arrive on the day.

So:

We bunch ride on the flats and false flats.

Individuals ascent the climbs at their own intensity level and wait at the top so the bunch can regroup and move forward.

That's one big reason why I chose this public holiday to organize a group ride to recce the route.
