I am so glad I am.

Drove over Ou Kaapse this evening and it was hecticly clouded and misty.

Scarborough wind was pumping too.

Methinks i'll sit in the bunch until boyes

wind?? pah!! moffs the lot of ya!

i'm gonna MTFU, break away up Ou Kaapse, solo through the mother of all headwinds that awaits on the false flat from Scarborough to Smits, divebomb down through Simonstown, fly like a speeding bullet with that tailwind to Boyes, attack again on that beeeyatch of a gradient, hammer the rollers, and take the glory.

or i could wake up and smell the nescafe, and hide in the bunch until Reddam :P

It was at this race in 2010 that I summoned up the courage to break away from the bunch - for the 1st time.

Two other riders followed and we stayed away over Boyes Drive.

It was helluva exhillerating.

Dunno what the weather/wind is like at the coast, but here in Durbanville there is nary a breeze moving. BUT IT IS HOT ALREADY!!

I got to the top of ou kaapse and my back was killing me. (put my saddle up yesterday, probably too much)

Luckily it was just before the short route turn so I just solo-ed with the wind behind me to the finish.

So if you see me on top of the results of the long ride in 1h10mins thats what happened :P

Any comments from riders who actually finished the race? :P

I did, just not the same one I started

From what I saw at the finish line looked like Shan WIlson came 2nd/3rd, didn't see anyone else I knew though.

Kristiaan Kriek (Maties) won it and JP Jacobs (Anderson Transport, Kriek on the hub) was 2nd. I don't think Shan was anywhere - I heard he made a wrong turn somewhere.
