I have Zipps but I'm still getting thirsty.. should I send them back?

Nah, one too many beers on pre-race night *grin*

Shame, don't blame that thirst on your speed weaponry...

I only have Mavic Cosmic Carbones, best I take the extra bottle

The 'Bones are cool...

I have the SRs.

Your extra thirst pangs could come from trying to hold onto MTB_Roadie's wheel!

MTB_Roadie going to make it a tough ride on sunday for sure, if he breaks he is going to take the extra Marshal with him then we back down to one Marshal in the main bunch.

Which bunch is this where the tactics centre around Marshal retention?

the infamous stars league bunch......

Kris, just talk to the guys in the bunch. Nobody wants to ride with guys who are all over the place. Ask nicely in the start chute for everybody to keep it tidy. If asking nicely does not work then have another chat with the offending riders afterwards and get their team managers involved. There has been a serious accident and whether somebody was to blame or not it sounds like there are some inconsiderate riders in this bunch and you guys as a bunch need to address it as you are the ones who must face the consequences of dangerous riding.

Hey, that is for Touristvisa, Spat, MTB_Roadie to sort out. I am 'enjoying' the hard riding in the A-C bunch. Yes, there were many factors in the accident that led to the unfortunate event, but as you say - have words with the guys before hand. What happened on Sunday, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Touristvisa was very vocal in the group last week , asking guys not to cross the white line I think, and so were others, but you know the mentality of some riders man, they a law unto themselves.

Lets hope the Marshals make a difference this week.

MTB_Roadie gets going before the bunch gets jittery, think that is the best strategy, get out of there asap

But not too early otherwise you have bunches from behind catching up and the stars guys hook on the back and pop out just before the sprint.

The whole idea with the new points system is to make people who are coming outside of the top 5 not sprint, they won't get any more points than the next unless they put 5 seconds into the next person...

guys, if you get a small bunch together and keep rotating at the front i guarantee you will be able to drop them. yes, it will be hard work and yes it will hurt, that's the point - remember if you're in pain, they're most likely hurting as well if not more. it doesn't sound like these guys can keep a reasonably high tempo for long so keep up the pace.

another strategy is go off in two's - two guys attack hard, make a break and the other two back in the bunch chase down the attacks/disrupt the rhythm on the front that come after to slow the group down and make the break stick. then after about 20mins or so the next two try to bridge the gap. hopefully by then noone will be keen or think they won't make it. meanwhile, these two group up with the two in front and you have a real chance.

there are a ton of ways to outfox a group of wheelsuckers, pick one and stick to it to see if it works. that's racing!

good luck on sunday!

Get some team tactics going, in U16 there is a team of 6 or 7 riders and quite frankly they're unstoppable, if we don't chase their breaks they get away, if we do, we're dead and then they send someone else.

Like Nuge said, or do a Andy-Frank 1-2.
