But not too early otherwise you have bunches from behind catching up and the stars guys hook on the back and pop out just before the sprint.

It is against the rules for the bunch to hook a tow from any other PPA group or racing group that comes past *sigh*

Has not been enforced last two racers but maybe with the extra marshal assigned this week.

We were caught on both occasions rather than catching another group but after a while it was a mix of Stars and F riders I think

From the Pro-Classic e-mail received yesterday...

"Mixing of different racing Pro Classic Series/groups

Racing groups may not combine unless two categories start at the same time. If it so happens that cyclist(s) come into contact with a group that is not part of their specific racing category, the cyclist must either ride past or stay 20 meters behind the group. Should it happen that a cyclist(s) passes the league group; the commissaire will instruct the group to let the cyclist(s) go past. No participant is allowed to fall into the slip of a cyclist(s) that is not part of their particular racing group. This rule holds true for both other Pro Classic Series groups and funride groups.

Cyclists infringing on this rule may be disqualified, penalized or both."

Touristvisa was very vocal in the group last week , asking guys not to cross the white line I think, and so were others, but you know the mentality of some riders man, they a law unto themselves.

Lets hope the Marshals make a difference this week.

MTB_Roadie gets going before the bunch gets jittery, think that is the best strategy, get out of there asap

Cheers Spat, see you on Sunday dude! I think I may be a lot less vocal on Sunday and just opt straight for the headbutt :whistling:

Thanks for the racing advice guys, have an enjoyable 126km!!

We were always gonna be caught on Sunday after we had to sit up and neutralise racing after the marshall sent some of the bunch the wrong way at Ocean View

I thought so as I remember a woman k@kking 2 chickies out for riding in our slip in the D'ville High school race. Just wondered if they enforced this as this contributed to interesting riding in the past two races.

Looks to be a hot day on Sunday boys - 34°C MAX, starting at 19°C at 5AM. Light Easterly wind. Nothing hectic.

Looking forward to it. Either start in the A-C (probably) group, or might move down one to D.

Let's see how the nerves are on the day!

Have a good and safe race everyone.

That concludes my personal tribute race to injured rider, Chris Skosan, from Kraaifontein.

Heal, brother, Heal...
