I've been in A before. Pain. Expect an average speed of around 41km/h when you reach Simonstown.

I like the sound of that...... not the first bit - but pain has become my friend. If you don't feel it, you aren't riding hard enough

I don't like that - 2010's A bunch rode 3:03  I was hoping for a 2:45ish. Guess who is going to be off on the front a good few times

but that was into a strong sw headwind

With good weather you will see 41km/h at the finish

So this is worst case scenario then...... sounds OK in that case. Lets hope for last year's weather

I've been telling all my cycling buddies this is the year it will rain, due to the unpredictable weather CPt has been experiencing these past couple of months. We had the very hot sun, the wind & now we must have the rain & because 2011 was perfect we'll have to pay the weather gods in 2012, lol!

hoe kry jy daai start tyd en dis jou eerste argus? vra ma net ;)

Join PPA. groups PA to PF get to go from +- 9.15 on. I got booted out of PA cos of the new seeding system (only done 1 Argus) but PB's ok. Possibly faster too... Going to chase my own tail (last year's time) big time!!

If you want a better start time next year, either join PPA or, but better, do a seeding race.

It seems the new seeding system gives preference to those who do more races (especially ACT) but why that should make them better riders than us 'newbies' who live far and wide away from the seeded races I'm not sure, judging by what I've seen of cycling skills at ACT so far...

No worries, the bug has me and thus a Burger or such on the plate this year :-)

S for me 7:12...other times has always been in the Nedbank group. Just so many factors to consider with the Argus with so many people...

I am in OB at 9.44............not pleased.

We did the Amashova last year so as to get a seeding and avoid being right at the back, yet somehow we are still there!

I have sent a query in to ask to be moved into the seeded batches, which will then get us in front of all the PPA batches.

Am going for the social event, and to enjoy the ride, but still would like to get going before half the field are finished!

How do you know which races they based seeding on... I seem to recall in the past they included the index they calculated for you and which race this was from - now its a lot more fudged....

think the super cycling seeding on cyclelabs website. http://old.cyclelab.com/Seeding.asp

i might be mistaken

Not really - sure thats where they pick up your results etc, but the text in their mail notes that they use various cirteria such as weather conditions, field size and strength etc not just your lowest index from qualifying seeding events... I want to know what race they based my seeding on as they seem to have ignored my race for victory result....
