But he has played only one game so far (the only one played to date). Seems a bit silly to me, if that's the case.

"Du Preez is currently running out for Suntory Sungoliath in Japan but they have agreed to release him for the Boks' home matches in the tournament. If Du Preez is picked by South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer, it will be the first time he has run out for the Springboks since the 2011 World Cup."

Why are we focussing so much on Du Preez? He had a good game, but so did just about all the other players. Would we have been discussing this if he pulled a hamstring and was out until our home games again? It is part of modern rugby. You have to feel for the Argentinian players who basically all play in France and then have to come "home" to play for their country. It must feel like an away game with jetlag etc for them.

Ag, for me is just ANOTHER indicator of Heyneke's short-sighted vision and, when in doubt, prefer to use Bulls players.

Admittedly, he was part of Meyer's thinking when he started his tenure.

My operating principle is that there are talented scrummies, OTHER THAN HOUGAARDT, who can earn the green and gold, in the place of Pienaar.

I worry more about the flyhalf position. What a key position.

“Last weekend a team with 10 overseas Springboks beat Argentina. When I coached (the Springboks) I wasn’t allowed to pick players earning money overseas. I was only allowed to pick players if they came back to SA and re-committed themselves to South African rugby. They are sending out the wrong message to young players. You can’t have your cake and eat it. They are going to lose a lot of players to foreign clubs.”

I say move with the times. It stimulates the development of young talent and our unions can opt not to enter into price wars with foreign clubs. It also reduces the value of our player pool to overseas clubs because its a standard clause to release players for national duty, so the club has increased risk contracting with these players and they get less use of their services. Many players benefit from a different playing environment and coaching structures. Often they get back into the Springbok setup looking refreshed and motivated as foreign clubs seem to manage their workload much better than local unions.

Wonder what went wrong with "the weakest Kiwi team in decades"? They gave the mighty Wallaby a good snot klap on Saturday.

YOU CAN'T BUY EXPERIENCE AND TEAM COHESION!!!!

Who would make such a statement!!!

I reckon this weekend a good to test for all blacks especially since they on there 4th string Flyhalf.

Somebody please tell me how Ma'a for the past 4 years, unsettled in every super rugby team, and the moment he puts on the Black jersey, booom. A constant threat to any defence!!!

i reckon this is going to be quite a tight rugby championships. probably weakest kiwi team we've seen in a while. wallabies a bit of a wildcard after losing lions tour and now with new coach.

boks always have potential to be world's best.

I reckon things are pretty even, and the difference could actually come from the pumas causing an upset somewhere along the way.

This oke. :whistling: :D

Biased commentators in the cheaters - sjarqies game. They should rather go and watch the soccer tomorrow as they said earlier.

Discussing soccer at a cheaters game is like trying to discuss twenty naainers on a Religious thread.

Good result for the Sharks. Cheetahs don't quite have the same defensive structures they had in the S15. I can't figure why - maybe just that the better team won on the day. The Sharks certainly performed better at scrum time with the new rules, and Cheetahs lost a lot of possession to free kicks (and penalties) here. I thought Pretorius was pure class at 9.
