The power corridors at WP rugby needs a moerse shake-up

Talent is leaking away

Senior players that should move on still fill spots

Overall game strategy and fitness levels are questionable

GO STORMERS

Still a fan

Who do you think should move on? Only 'old' players are Gio, JDV and maybe Grant?

I think the rest are still quite young coming through the ranks or establish Boks in their peak

Just imagine the upset if there was a promotion relegation match and the Stormers fell out of the bus!!!   too bad

Would be crazy but I think they will get off the foot of the table

Wholesale changes required on coaching and managerial level. Coetzee, Fleck, Proudfoot and Solomons all need to go, With the amount of talent they had to their disposal in the last 4 years they have definitely under performed. Perhaps the Stormers should put out their feelers to get a guy like Brendan Venter involved sooner rather than later. Give him full authority to appoint his own assistants and other management, and the budget to ensure that they sign promising talent where there are currently little or no cover for front line players.

With good player management and a balanced squad the Stormers should not be in the position they find themselves in currently with regards to injuries in key positions (note every position in the modern game is a key position).

Very insightful article by Brendan Venter on 'asset management' within SA rugby on the SS website.

THREE SA TEAMS in the bottom 6 of Super Rugby this year. Yoh!

Agreed - their squad 2011-2013 would rival most international teams

Really. Wow!

I can't recall but he was discussing how the international market (UK, France, Japan, etc) was deteriorating the standard of Super Rugby in SA

I don't know if you remember when Jake was at the Brumbies he was taking loads over as Canberra University sponsors the team. Scholarship and rugby contract to the best of the craven week ...

Look how many Saffas at The Force

Rugby players are our only export with all the mine strikes at the moment

I know he's quoting 'history' but I don't think the log will look anything like previous years when it comes to the final six. I reckon there will be about 4/5 teams with a chance grabbing the two home semi spots come the final two weeks(what happens if they're from the same country? one of them goes to 4th?). The bulls are sitting in 10th, but only 7 points behind the force in 3rd place(where they definitely won't end up).

As for Bulls overtaking the sharks to get in, they dropped a big ball losing over the weekend, essentially they need to win three more games than the sharks with 7 remaining. Even if sharks go into a freefall, they'll grab some losing bonus points.

These are the remaining fixtures for the Sharks and Bulls:

Sharks (31 points from nine games, first overall): Rebels (a), Brumbies (a), Crusaders (a), Blues (a), Stormers (h), Cheetahs (a), Stormers (a).

Bulls (20 points from 10 games, 10th overall): Cheetahs (h), Stormers (h), Brumbies (h), Lions (a), Stormers (a), Rebels (h).

Either way, it's a seriously depressing race to the bottom if that's all we're left with. As a bok supporter you've basically got no choice but to support the sharks from here on. And they've only got one home game on the schedule.

The SA record (of the cheetahs/bulls/stormers) on tour is 0-12. I don't rate the Lions to add much to the tally, in fact I don't think they're out of the relegation race by any means yet.

The points tally of combined conferences is:

SA - 91

AUS - 103

NZ - 117

It gets worse when you realise we're about a game ahead too after starting a week earlier.

Heyneke, boet - you got to earn your salary this year.

Heneke is probably hoping for some more injuries this year. It will at least give him the same excuse as what the Stormers are currently throwing around. I can hear it now..

" I has to play Victor, cause dere is no udder loks left."

I see 2 of the remaining games for the Sharks will be against the Stormers. Well, that's 10 log points right there already. :whistling:

Woohoo

SORRY, can't even defend our team.

But remember, a team with nothing to lose can be a dangerous team.
