qtr finals for superrugby

looks like of the two kiwi teams who have smashed aussies this morning the chiefs should make the playoffs, but look who they need to play.

crusaders vs  chiefs

jaguares vs    Bulls*

brumbies vs   stormers**

hurricanes vs  Lions*

this is on the assumption that the stormers beat the sharks and the lions beat the bulls(but by less than ~40 points).

if the sharks win they should get the brumbies game.

if the lions get a losing bonus point then they swap with bulls.

if they come away empty handed, highlanders sneak in.

if the bulls win, then it starts getting spicey

bulls match was proof that there is no collusion in SA rugby.

as they were the last game of the league, options

lose game - no bonus points - play jaguares away

lose game 1 bonus - play brumbies away

win game and have to play hurricanes, 2nd best team in comp(but lions don't make it)

they chose to screw themselves and the lions over

The stormers are a proper k*k team ‍♂

i actually tried to watch a game of super rugby. sharks and stormers were both uber k*k

i almost think they're happy to close the season a week earlier.

Digging the intensity of the match. Almost like watching a test match!

It has been a pleasure to watch! Great skills by both sides. Matera's pass to Orlando was spectacular. Fantastic defense from both teams as well. Looking forward to the second half!

Wee bit sad for Jaguares! They were so much better than the scoreline suggests. It was an incredible match to watch and both teams can be proud of their performances.

Matera was immense in the match and deservedly won the Man of the Match award.

I also think that the Pumas will be a hard team to beat at the World Cup.

Jaguares have been able to make this a huge focus for their rugby, and it has shown. If they can convert it to the national team then rugby is all the better for it.

Somehow the kiwis always seem to get away with this sort of thing!

use "."  and "," to go frame by frame.

Bryn Hall (red 9) ends up striking Jaguares wing (Moroni) on the head, and he then drops the ball. Try saving tackle, not intentional but clearly high.

Would have made it 10-7 to jaguares on half time, might not change the result but shows how close these margins are.

High but not intentional saved Bryn's skin there I reckon. That said the Jaguares made a further three opportunities in the second half that they just couldn't convert. The best of which was Moroni's effort shortly after Mu'onga had made it 13 - 3. Had Orlando's run been a bit more angled he might've been able to grab Moroni's pass and scored. It would've been a 3 point game at that time and who knows what might've been. That said I do feel that the Crusaders were that bit more clinical and deserved the win but it took some effort on their part as the Jaguares played with the intent and confidence to win.

And Peyper did his best to assist the 'Saders.

Just compare the penalty count in the 2nd half. Most of the 'Saders blatant transgressions went unpunished. One was right infront of the ref. Jaguares was on the attack, the ball went to ground and a mall/ruck ensued. Think it was no. 22 of the that Saders fell over the ball from a side entry, made no effort to roll away, thus sealing the ball. Outcome was Saders ball, Saders cleared the ball from the scrum with a long sideline punt, scoring chance for Jaguares lost.

But, at the end of the game, the Saders was the better team, and deserved their win.
