The big deal is that if you buy custom kit you should get what you ordered.

It is not a case of buying a mass-produced piece of general clothing that might have a misaligned stich or small hole or something...

We are talking custom design... here's another example for you...

If you go for a TATTOO and they spell your g/f's name wrong, are you going to be chuffed if they offer you a 50% discount?

No - you would freak the hell out, you wont go onto a forum and tell people you just got the the best service/deal of your LIFE????

Anywaz, im done with this thread.. i think i made my point..

You sound like you have something personal against ASG?

They made a mistake - they admitted it and dealt with it in a manner the customer was happy with... If he wasn't happy, maybe they would have had the kit made correctly and given a discount, who knows?! Customer service is about the customer being happy (i.e. not whether you would have been happy, you may have been treated differently in the same situation) - maybe he would have been less happy having to wait for new kit to be made than just taking the discount. Each to their own...

Why are you on such a high horse and what point are you trying to make? Why are you comparing a tattoo to bike kit, where's the similarity? If you got custom printed toilet paper and it had a spelling error - would you be worried your friends would be disappointed in their experience or take a 50% discount? I'd take the discount... Sorry, but it's about as relevant as your analogy here.

ASG seem to get extremely high praise in general and have obviously done something to deserve it (I've only dealt with them once in a routine transaction, but they were extremely efficient - and most wholesalers in SA offer very inefficient service from my experience). It's definitely not the brands they sell either as they took on Pinarello which had an exceptionally bad reputation from the previous agents (something I experienced personally) and turned it into a big, viable brand in our market.

Not good sense to tattoo your g/f name on your body any ways. What if she dumps your ass?

:P

We get your point.

I fully agree. It is not great that ASG made the mistake in the first place, but how they handled their mistake was great. They owned up to their mistake and they made a happy customer. Sure, they might not have lost out financially due to the mistake, but they found a workable solution with the customer. Isn't that just good business?

About the example about being willing to spend lots of money, does not mean you feel you need to spend the money to get your values worth. If I walk into a bike shop and I want to buy a new bike for R50 000. The sales agent says "You know what, we have this same bike of which the paint got nicked in one spot. If you want you can have it for R35 000." Same bike, same components with a little paint damage I will take for R35 000 even though I was willing to spend the R50 000. The saving means you now may have cash for something else you wanted to buy. This might not be good enough for you, but for many others they will gladly accept the saving.

The sign of a good company is how they deal with problems. I think that they handled this issue fantastically. A win win always trumps a shitty fight.

But if you look at the logo on the chest it runs from left to right, so the logo on the arm now matches what is in front.

Correct, we actually like it.

The image below is the final design and what was signed off.

The circled logo is facing in the opposite direction on the final kit and that is the error.

Maybe your logos have been wrong all the time and ASG have actually corrected it.!

They should have charged you 10% more. LOL :)

Everyobody has different needs and expectations. This thread was started to thank ASG for servicing/correcting a problem fro a specific customer and good on them for doing that - end of story. Unfortunately some people always see the negative in everything and have managed to turn this thread around against its initial purpose.

I guess for some people the glass will always be half empty................

Well done ASG, I have always been more than happy with their service.....
