The prize worth all the pain and suffering, the PBP2011 medal, each one engraved with the finisher's time.

It's a big medal, and quite hefty too!

The team SA jerseys. There were only about 16 of us between about 5200 participants from 55 countries

That design would look nice for LEL - with the French flag swopped for Union Jack, or even separate England and Scotland flags.

Also ... for me, as a Brit it means I get to have my home and birth country flags on my back ... :)

Yep, but while we're at it, maybe instead of jerseys, we should have team raincoats :)

Yes, just add warm clothes! The rain gets freezing cold in the dead of night (even in the daytime), even more so with the fatigue brought on by a few days in the saddle!

Went away to try do some work and then made the mistake of coming back to this thread... No no no no here we go again!!

I also saw no SAns were finishers in LEL 2009 so what a great idea to have a whole team take it on in 2013!

I think I prefer drinking meths shooters with beer to this feeling - finding a 2HR RIDE challenging enough right now!

Time to start an LEL 2013 thread??

So he did. My mistake. I missed that - SA being referred to as ZAF.

  • 2 months later...

I think all the current SA Audax events in the Joburg guys. Think there should be info and contact details on main website

http://www.audaxsa.co.za/

Last discussions I saw were that the Western Cape ones would recommence in Spring.
