Bought a new MTB a year ago that was fitted with SRAM XO group set and compact crank, it has been the most frustrating year on a MTB, chain keeps on jumping off the big blade in the front and gears keep on slipping at the back, has cost me a couple of grand due to chains bending and a rear deraileur bending due to this chain jumping offf, today again, as soon as the stupid thing hits the dirt the crap starts, kannie meer nie korporaal, cant wait to get another bike with XT or XTR, nothing can be as bad and frustrating as this stupid SRAM.

Strange, I've got a mix match of Sram and Shimano components. Sram XO gripshifts, X9 FD and X7 RD with Deore crankset. I've had one or two overshifts when going from middle to small blade up front, but never a chain jumping off. This is on a HT.

maybe there is something wrong with you or your mechanic???

for example: indexing done correctly? chain length? did you change anything, like the ratio's because maybe your cage is incorrect length, did you change the chain or did you add a speedlink?

maybe you should just get a roadbike.... LOL :whistling:

Anyway, i dont ride SRAM, have 5 bikes between my wife, son and me... all XT/XTR/2011+2012 and we dont have any mechanicals to complain about....

But I can say this is not a "common" SRAM issue - especially not on X0

Must be YOU

Not the only person having the problem, been to a number of "mecanics", get set fine for the firts few kays till we hit the dirt , then it stars, yes its a gard tail, and no this is not a april fools joke, very frustrating, especialy when racing, has cost me a number of category wins over the last 12 months, as said before SRAM SUCKS, think I would rather ride a single speed fixie before I ride SRAM again

Which "category wins" are you talking about exactly? I'm not sure a 7km to 10km fun ride really counts... :whistling: you get a "metal" even if you come last...

I think i'm onto you... prob was gonna end up last in your race today so you dropped your chain on purpose so you had an excuse with your buds.... and now your putting on a moerse act by ranting on thehub about it.

bwhahahahahahahahah - kuk funnie

Aprils Fool???

Between my GF and I we have 5 bikes, 2x road bikes(one SRAM Force and the other Shimano) and 3x MTB's(all with SRAM) and had no problems what so ever with SRAM. Did 2x Sani2C's, 1x W2W(Very Wet) and 1x Garden route 300 on the 2 bikes with the same SRAM Groupset and the groupsets have now about 8,000km on them each with no replacements yet, bit of tuning every 6 months or so and brake pad replacements as per normal but they are rock solid. I think I might be something else, maybe your frame Geometry, BB, chain for that matter or your riding(you). or maybe it's because it's not an Cannondale...

Burry won the Epic with SRAM so its definitely not the groupset....

Build my bike with SRAM July 2010 has only set gears once since and have only replaced chain once after rock smacked it so hard a link bent. Rode a bike for 4 months with new XT and it's not nearly as good when shifting under load.

My mate rides previous model XT and he has to set gears every so often and has over the same period replaced his whole drivetrain due to wear.
