Depending if I'm riding my trail bike or XC hardtail, I switch between having shorts on or not. Either way I ride with my bib shorts, if I'm doing a few laps down the beachfront, shorts without a doubt. Never had an issue catching my FOX shorts which I got from the Fox Store(R799) which have detachable inners. I have caught my bib shorts of my saddle a few times.

Not had an issue riding 60km + in shorts/ baggies either.

hey who left out 27.5 inch riders? let's see 26 inch 120mm travel or longer wear baggies... racers (budgy smugglers) lycra...27.5 inch and single speeders can wear anything (must be a cult thing) 29 inch MUST be lycra unless it's a Pyga or a Niner dually.... ? imagine explaining it all on wikipedia... wonder if the guy that wrote Downhills are your friend included that in his book?

So I mean to say, vat jou baggies and MTB, ride to the pub via the parkie, get those beers, get wasted, bunny-hop the barcounter, leave your baggies with the oulike waitress en kom ons time-trial huistoe in Lycra, and sommer drag race a few roadies, robot-to-robot, uphill, just 'cause you can!

Hoss-ja!

JAck Parow on thehub?

I hear you...........but today's baggies are well fitting and with inline covers not really much space for getting caught by the saddle..............either way, lets agree to disagree.

Just get a dropper seat post dudes. No snagging ever again.

Gonna start riding in tight cut off jeans...

Nice! brakeless BMXer style!

I have some skinny-jean cut offs I ride in on occasion... I do find they restrict movement quite a bit though

i like to wear baggies (over a pair of lycras) because i have pockets to put my cellphone and house keys, but more importantly it doesn't rip when i fall - some of my friends are forever tearing their lycra on the most minor off's, and then they have to ride semi-naked all the way back.

i'm all for practicality vs posing and trying to look like burry stander on the epic.
