We are a mixed team entry for the Sani2C Trail (15-17May) and would prefer not to share the same tent. If there is another mixed team who would like to share, we could have men and ladies in separate tents. (We do not snore .... ;-) .

i have been wondering how most of the other teams do this. I have a female friend that i would like to ride a stage race with and i know for sure my wife wold not enjoy the thought of me sharing a tent with another woman. (PS note that wife does not ride)

e-Mail the orginisers - they should be able to assist. Friends of mine had the same problem last year and were allocated an extra tent, all be it at the bottom end of the tent village, so one of you will do a lot of walking to the dining facilities and back.

Good to know. I won't be staying in the tents this year as the family are coming with, but next stage race I will be staying in the tents.

Some of the teams stay in chalets and at other places so normally there are tents open. However, we also rode mixed last year and I shared a tent with my partner, almost exactly 12 months later we are still together and it all started at the sani 2011 :)

And your wife is ok with that ?

This may seem obvious to you married folks, but since I'm not this sounds a bit puzzling. Your wife would like you to go and find some stranger on the internet to share a tent with rather than the riding partner that you've clearly put so much faith into by entering/training together because:

a)your partner is a home wrecking, good for nothing slag who just happens to be a decent bikerider.

b)you're a man, and no man can be trusted to keep his d!ck in his pants.

c)riding a mtb for 5+ hours is basically foreplay, with all the close inspection of each other's butts. Zipping up a tent with an opposite member of the sex is tantamount to a non verbal agreement to consentual hanky panky.

d)you live in the bible belt, and if dominee jacobus finds out about this(he always does) then next sunday's sermon on "die duiwel loop rond die sani2c" would be socially awkward.

e)you come back from training rides sweaty and the wifey is suspicious about what you two are doing in the forest together.

f)you have started using 4 hour tantric sessions to warm down after LSD rides

g)you bought udder cream as part of the combined 'kit' for the team.

h)the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain

Riding a bike with someone is very different to spending the night in a tent. Unless you sleep in your clothes, there is some point where you have to get changed in the tent. I'd much rather do this in front of a strange female, than a male.

I think option B is probably the most appropriate.
