Saw this at hamleys, they have a real nice collection of star wars legos. very difficult to walk out there empty handed.

Unimpressed I was. Underwhelming Hamleys is.

Finally got there on Sunday and almost walked right past the Hamleys...

The Lego section was small. My local toy shop - Pop's - has a better selection of Lego sets, and if you're into the Star Wars stuff, Lilliputs in the Rosebank Mall has nearly everything! I believe there's a Lilliputs in Craighall, but haven't been to it. Anyone?

Also, why would Hamleys put a cool completed model like the Star Destroyer up here where no one can actually see it?

Wait, what!? Is that the over 1m long version?! The one that I'd give my left nut to have in my home?

Blasphemy. Blasphemy, I say!

Ja, the set with the Admiral Piett minifig...

Shocked and stunned, I was, shocked and stunned...

Thanks to this thread I am currently completing my 1993 Ice planet space lego collection... Chose to buy the bricks from Bricklink as I don't have the rest of the sets boxes anyway.

Got a few packets of bricks so far and really happy even though its all used the stuffs in great condition.

Unfortunately I also saw the new Technic  Mercedes Benz Acrox with Pnuematics and motors... quite a costly set though. Maybe in few months Ill be in a better position to buy it....

This was a cool set to build. It's Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye...

Although they're fiddly, I've really gotten into the Architecture sets, although there are some in the series I won't bother with - the White House and UN building hold no appeal.

The sets are an interesting entry point for a bit of googling and reading as the potted histories in the booklets make you want to know more.
