Noble cause, Doris. But getting people to click Like button won't do much in my opinion. What you need is for people to march into the Kruger Park with 30.06 and .303 rifles, and have a bit of a "talk" with the poachers.

i agree, what actually happens to a bunch of 'likes' anyway? Not downplaying your efforts, its great, but it comes down to our government and public making a concerted effort and applying stringent punishments as well. Crime surely does pay in this instance, i mean the horn is worth a few thousand, being caught with bail is what, R500???

Might as well get out there and see all the rhinos while you still can. Its just a question of time before they are all gone...

We can't control crime in RSA so what chance does a rhino have with a corrupt government, pathetic courts, useless cops and an army that is a joke?

Heard on the radio this morning that 135 Rhinos were killed in the Kruger park alone this year. i didn't realise that the Kruger Park had so many and that so many have been killed.

there are too many armchair activists these days with the rise of social media.

yes awareness helps. but there is only so much awareness does.

noble cause.

but i think there is so much media hype around the rhinos the awareness is already there, the solution is not

Yup I agree with you - I have some ideas on inroads in China and believe that with the right awareness campaign it will *spark* more activists in China who will fight the fight IYKWIM - it will add up and can add up if it is passed along and the awareness is grown - does it matter if there are 100 people doing it - will it create more awareness ? is this not what we want in the first place ? Running around and sponsoring R10 for this and that initiative is been done however a public plee and an appeal from People who are buying the horns to please stop buying them :)

With all the efforts to date we are still loosing Rhinos :( so what we are doing is clearly not enough and not effective enough :( we must keep trying ;)

There is a guy thats trying to get funds to do exactly that, ex Reccie, and he is doing his utmost to get funds for kit to setup his own specialized team to work of private land. If you want to make dontations to help set him up i can ask him if i can post his banking details here.

I heard that recently a cop and army dude shot a game ranger. They thought he was a poacher and he thought the same.. Hmm, think I am gonna stay out of any parks with Rhinos in! yikes!
