Most of the time when a bike is specced the RD will be a higher spec than the rest of the groupset.Aha - thanks good to know... incidently my brakes are also the M445's. i was told this was my bikes component weak point and they would need upgrading later - but so far I find them more than adequate (though that may say more about the fact that I have yet to properly put them to test in my very limited mtb'ing career ...)
