Cube Acid 29er - Anyone?

Hey guys...saw this bike in a shop today...man I am in love, and is in my budget too...well almost

 

Anybody here own one?

Merida Big Nine 500

With these bikes I can also afford a tubeless conversion...and Tubeless tires.

That's not too bad a price, their official website lists it Recommended Retail price @ R 11,500.00.

 

Better specs than most bikes in that price range. Bot like most bikes in that price range still a bit heavy at 13+kg.

 

Does this include tubeless conversion?

No, specs as per website. Unfortunately I can't spend more. I agree most bikes in this price range is still quite heavy. I will just have to make the most of it and enjoy it regardless...

Dont worry about the weight, it's not important. Start worrying about the weight when you are super fit and and your bodyweight/fat% is spot on.

 

Until then nothing else matters except that you: Like the brand, like the colour scheme, enjoy the ride, and have a suspension, drivetrain and brakest that works reliably and well.. that's most important...

I agree. I know it isn't the most important thing.

I would however like to buy the best for my money.

Come down to Complete Cyclist in Randburg on Saturday morning. I will be there with test bikes, including the ACID 29er, Reaction Pro 29er and Elite HPC SL 29er.

 

You can ride it and feel the Agile Ride Geometry and how good it really is.

Last year November I also only had a budget in that range ended up buying a Momsen AL329 (R 9,995.00 including tubeless conversion). Although also heavy, I am enjoying it and also completed my first Sani2C Race on it this weekend.

 

Would like to shop around for something new now, thinking of looking at the Full Suspension Focus bikes.

I am very happy with it, did over 5000km on it before sending it in for a service.

 

I would just get rid of the Conti tyres on them and replace them with any other tubeless tyre.

 

Only thing i had to get used to was the wide handlebars. The Momsen's seem to have wider handlebars.

 

I think if you hang on a bit though they will be releasing there 2013 models in July / August.

I also had a look at the Momsen. Very nice spec for the price if you ask me.

What size is your bike...maybe I will take it off your hands if you want something else

The Momsen is a nice bike, but it's nowhere near as good looking as the Cube
