Happened to a friend of mine , was a momsem mtb though he had it fixed but it came loose again in the Epic so ended up getting a replacement frame. The reason for this to happen is mostly overtightened bolts. But think it should be fine for road if you fix it. Just ask at your LBS for carbon repair man!

That is NOT good.... someone way over tightened those bolts and f'kd up that frame.... no warranty in the world will help you...

You would have to take that to a carbon specialist and they would have to cut/splice the frame and "embed" new eye's... will never be a perfect fix... you might as well have them respray and prep the rest of the frame while they are at it...

Sorry for your loss...

Don't be a head Dick.... I've seen that happen on a Spaz too.. Contact Paul at Pro Cycles in Benoni. He will sort it out for you and you can decide if you want a new paint job at the same time or not. On of our club riders had that repair done on his Spaz two weeks ago, after another rider fell onto his bike at a robot and ripped out the cage with his cleat. He was very grim at the rookie as you can imagine.

Just remember that if you are repainting, that there's a rumour that Leaky Gas are pulling out at the end of the year, so their colour scheme might be old news then...

Happend to my SPez as well- easy repair, all they do is insert a bigger one  and where your bolt use to be like a 4 or 5mm it would now be a 5 or 6 mm.

Thats a good idea, but i dont like the look of those longitudinal cracks. They might propergate if not taken care of. It may have to be a large insert.

If you want it to work it will spoil that patch a bit.

Get the cloth and resin ( ask the local guy to give you a sample or you'll have to buy like 2m)

1 Sand the area (60-80grit)

2 Cut a piece of round or square Carbon cloth 3K weave.

3 Separate the cloth in the middle in other words pull the individual strands appart

( You'll need about 3 or 4 pieces the same size)

4 mix resin as per spec usually 2 to 1

5 Paint the area to repaired with a thin film also put a film on the lug

6 inpregnate the 4 pieces of cloth

7 put cloth over whole sanded area with hole in the middle

8 Repeat with all 4 pices

9 place the lug in the centre

10 tape up with insulation tape sticky side up

11 prick area with a pin to squeeze out excess resin.

Finishing:

1 cure for about 24 hours

2 peel off tape

3 sand smooth

4 use water paper with a little water

5 mask area and apply clear lacquer or mix another batch of resin and apply with a brush
