Boschbok Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 What is the cycling etiquette when cycling on quiet roads? Especially sometimes when there is a solid line in the middle of the road? From a safety point of view a bunch should go single but when roads are very quiet it seems silly? Motorists are usually anoyed and so are cyclists! Any comments?

Any comments? The law say 2 abreast, respect the law. Besides 90% of cyclists get merged with the tarmac on "quiet" roads since drunk motorists know there will be no police presence and they can ride as badly as they want.

Awesome morning on the bike and unfortunately another close call between cyclist and car - quiet road, cyclist about 1 m in from side of road, all think they own the 'quiet' road! Lots of hands and fingers waving - not friendly!
