Anyone interested in social time trials this summer?

What time you thinking of?

It'd have to be a 6 - 6.30 kick off I'd guess so that everyone is back in the hutch before sun down.

If I'm not mistaken it was called the Merton Cycling Club. So yeah I'm keen.

As well, I rode for Sydenham Wheelers... south side of the Thames. Loved riding in UK, France and Belgium.

Tuesday nights was 10 mile TT and beers. Thursday night was belting around Brands Hatch Race course at pace.

I'm very dissapointed I did not take more advantage of the cycling racing scene in the UK or France & Belgium like you did. I was too busy jolling up a storm.

who is going to take charge of the start and finish?

Will need at least 2-4 time keepers, 2 along the route & 2 at the finish, as always probably some WAGS could do the trick.

i don't want to play devils advocate BUT if u have time keepers then that means it is an organised event and the invitors could get into trouble if an invitee was hurt/injured/killed etc

I take part in a similar initiative annually and the 'organisers' do ask us to sign an indemnity

I'd imagine that it'd probably be a mixture of point to point or out and back. A couple of time keepers shouldn't be an issue really else there is always 'strava'!

I'm always a fan of not getting sued, losing my house and generally getting stuffed for a having a bit of an evening race so I guess an indemnity form would have to be there...

I guess it's also abut has hard as people make it. Cheating hadn't occurred to me, why would you? People can pitch in and help out with bike holding on start, time keeping etc.

If it becomes big them we can alway work it in a more specific way. Club TT's have always been run with a few guys a stop watch, a clipboard, some gutsy performances and a few cold beers. That's the beauty, they are simple and fun.

UCT does the ladies mile time trial every thursday evening in summer, and we do a bishopscourt tt every Thursday in winter.

The ladies mile TT only consists of left turns and it's impossible to cheat, so only 1 time keeper is required. Furthermore, the bishopscourt tt that we are currently doing is off the main roads so traffic is avoided and there are some really nasty climbs over the route!

If anyone is keen to join, let me know... But I would definitely be interested in maybe riding one or 2 of these routes hellocolour if you manage to get it together...
