Just finished reading From Lance to Landis, was a real insightful book.

Was wondering if there are other great books about cycling, the legends the tours and races etc.. that Hubbers may have read and can recommend.

Looking at getting Slaying the Badger , 1986 battle between Lemond and Hinault.

Other great books I have read recently and can recommend:

The Cyclist Training Bible - Joe Friel

Time Crunched Cyclist - Chris Carmichael

Slaying the Badger is great.

Also, We were young and carefree (Laurent Fignon) and Sex, Lies and handlebar tape

I got loads of books I have read and they now just sit in the cupboard.

Willing to loan them out to guys that are in my area or sell if people battling to get. Probably shooting myself in the foot with loaning them out I know!

The death of Marco Pantani

Push yourself just a little bit more

Its not about the bike and the second one (Cant think of the name now)

MTB training bible

Will add the rest when I find them

I was going to start my own thread for good cycling books, but seems somebody already had 7 years ago. Times have changed (Lance got caught!) but hopefully this thread can still be a source of good cycling books for myself and others.

My all time favorites:

1. Slaying the Badger (Brilliant book about about one of the best tours ever, 86 TdF with LeMond and Hinault)

2. The secret race by Tyler Hammilton

4. Fallen Angel - the passion of Fausto Coppi by William Fotheringham.

3. Wheelmen by Reed Albergotti (much like #2, still couldn't put it down though)

Other notable mentions:

1. Half Man Half Bike (About Eddie Merckx)

2. Racing the Stasi. (More about a love affair between an east german rider and west german woman, and his attempt to escape the secret police during the height of communism. He rode the TdF and the Eastern European equivalent though - The Peace Race. Very interesting book).

4. 3 weeks, 8 seconds. More Greg Lemond (see #1) but this time racing another Frenchman in the 89 TdF.

4. It's not about the bike. Just kidding.

The Badger by Willian Fotheringham is also a brilliant read.

The Climb by Chris Froome is also really good.

Lemond by Greg Andrews

Enjoyed the Badger too. Haven't tried the others but I'm (clearly) a Lemond fan so will definitely give one of them a try.
